He's been taking tips from V and their gay-tastic TOTP performance!

Are there already some dress rehearsal reports?

Erik seems to be the only hope for this heat judging by today's rehearsal reports.

Many saying Hanna's performance is seriously brilliant but the song borders on to be Techno and it just won't get the votes.

    grin

I think Manboy might be the most unintentionally hilarious MF entrant since Samba Sambero.

"Manboy Manboy you can call me Manboy, WOOOOAH"

I have never heard a cheaper or more blatant Womaniser rip-off in my LIFE!

The verses are also lifted straight from 'Not That Kinda Girl' by Bengtzing/Lian.

Hippare Hoppare is just Kebabpizza with a rap. AWFUL. 0/10

Innan alla ljuset brunnit ut is nice but lacks a hook and will blatantly come last.

Come & Get Me Now has MUCH improved since the webjoker! It sounds quite catchy!

    moopy

Pauline is a UNIVERSE of MEH. Could not be any more obvious that she was a desperate third choice after Lena PH and Helena fucked off.

I still HATE Fraggle Boy's vocals, but We Can Work It Out is his best entry by a mile. He should easily get his third finalen ticket with that, especially in between the two dirges that precede and follow him.

Underbart is just old men singing Riverdance. Not unlistenable but an utter waste of space and nobody in their right mind could possibly expect it to qualify.

    Manipulated is just WEIRD.

I'm not sure what to make of it at all. How is it going to work live? I can't see the Swedes voting for it, but I might come to like it in full. Hard to tell. Different though!

Manboy is ridiculous! That cloesup photo doesn't do much for his FANGS either. Sounds like it'll be one of the big fan favourites though.

I like the sound of Anna Maria Espinosa.

Highlights & Shit is improved but still... what a waste of space. Bring back Thorleifs.

I'm shocked how much I enjoy We Can Work It Out. It's not for Eurovision but it should be a huge Swedish hit.

Christ, what an absolute shitshow again.

The Hanna Lindblad track sounds terrible. If her performance is amazing, then it'll just be another Linda Pritchard situation of a great performance wasted on a shit song.

I'm not even that keen on Andreas to be honest...

MANBOY to win, and it would probably have been about my 5th favourite in any heat of 2009.

We Can Work It Out and Manboy are a bit of a let down in these fragments. Everything might change after seeing the performances, but for now:

    1. Manipulated
    2. Sucker For Love

    3. Manboy
    4. We Can Work It Out

    5. Come And Get Me Now

I think A Little Bit Of Love was a lot better than We Can Work It Out.

Yeah this is definitely a weak heat.

    Rankings after 2 listens:

    1. Anna-Maria Espinosa
    2. Andreas Johnson
    3. Erik Saade
    4. Highlights & MIST
    5. Hanna Lindblad
    6. Pauline
    7. Kalle Moraeus & Orsa Spelmän
    8. Andra Generationen

I reckon Andreas and Erik DTG, Highlights and maybe Anna or Andra Generationen () to AC.

    Oh, I forgot Anna-Maria. Stupid.

    New rank:

    1. Hanna Lindblad
    2. Pauline
    3. Anna-Maria Espinosa

(Close between Pauline and Anna. I think all three will be better than anything from heat 1)

    4. Erik Saade
    5. Andreas Johnson

Don't really care about the rest.

I like the sound of 'We Can Work It Out', 'Manboy' but I'm really interested in 'Manipulated', it cuts off before the big chorus so it's hard to judge it.

Next week really will be the make or break for this year, Elin, Alcazar and Darin have got a lot of expectations and if they don't live up to them our only hope is Peter with his 6 KEY-CHANGES, yes you heard me right.

  27. #67
    My rank is something like:

    1. Pauline - how catchy and beautiful, though I'm not that keen on this kind of retro-pop.
    2. Highlights - I can't believe they made this shit brilliant!
    3. Hanna - Kylie in hard dance beat, awesome.
    4. Anna - charming, it sounds like a huge hit of 70s or earlier.
    5. Eric - I expected so much more and I know that it'll grow on me like Sleepless and Hope & Glory but for now...nice but not best Kempe's work.
    6. Andreas - definitely good but bot not good enough to get goosebumps. Final again? Hope not.
    7. Kalle - very Swedish and very Nordman-ish, would sound better by some girls-band, but however pleasant.
    8. Andra Generationen - it's not less shit than their previous song, probably worst song of whole selection, I'm shocked, who chose it???

In common I find this semi again very nice, I'm in love with some songs and even only one disgusting song can't spoil it for me.

I got the feeling the Manipulated fragment starts with the chorus.

You hear her saying 'Manipulated' a lot but the music is rising at the end of the clip so either it's a big letdown or she's about to burst in to the 'proper' chorus.

Kevin go to http://schlagerprofilerna.blogspot.com if you want to see plenty of pictures of the rehearsals and the costumes for tomorrow.

I think Kalle Moraeus might get the token place in the final for a real Swedish entry, either through going direkt or AC.

"Manboy" will certainly go to the finals, and did any MF-entry by a male ever scream 'gayklubb stomper' any louder? A lot of the Swedes that are tired of sending venerable old schlagerdrottnings to ESC are clawing to vote through a hot young singing/dancing/dripping wet pop boy all the way to Oslo.

Predictably I am loving 'Man Boy' and 'Manipulated' - I love the fact that they have shamelessly have ripped off Britney and Lady Gaga and haven't even tried to hide it. Not a fan of Andreas - I like it less than 'One Love' and I didn't really like that very much. It sounds like it is going to drag on and not go anywhere from that clip. 'Underbart' is too old fashioned sounding for me. I suprisingly really like 'Come And Get Me Now' - it really reminds me of something that I can't put my finger on.

    RANK:

    1 - Man Boy
2 - Come And Get Me Now
    3 - Manipulated
    4 - Sucker For Love
5 - Innan alla ljusen brunnit ut
6 - We Can Work It Out
    7 - Underbart
    8 - Hippare Hoppare

BTW, Highlights were also in this year's edition of DANSBANDSKAMPEN, and were very good despite not making it through their heats. Their lead singer is well-known in Sweden from being in FAME FACTORY, and is pretty sexy...
MBK, the Swedish bloggers are saying that Highlights' rendition of "Come and Get Me Now" (which completely salvages it from the mess that appeared online in the webbjoker competition) is a nice throwback to the MF entries of the early 2000s when FRIENDS and BARBADOS were in the top ranks of the competition, so maybe that is the feeling you are getting from the clip.

Well something clearly needs to happen this year in order for some of the more 'alternative' entries to even stand a chance.

Jenny Silver can't logistically come 8th but then go on and chart ridiculously high the next week. Same applies for Shirley but she just had a shit song.

Good God. Have they left the best songs for the other semis? You'd think that Sweden don't want to win the ESC after the shower of shite that's been paraded the last fortnight.

I think that if SVT wants the more esoteric entries to have a chance to sink in and be appreciated with more than one listen before the voting, maybe they should allow each week's entries to be played freely on the radio the entire week before the deltävling. Since MF nominally is a contest to choose an entry for ESC that will sit well in listeners' ears after a single performance, that's not likely to happen.

The more I think about it, I honestly believe Christer has deliberately put in a load of shit to ensure that someone like Darin wins.

I thought that from day one. He's obviously tired of Sweden sending Schlager and will go to ANY lengths to avoid it happening again.

Pity he has selective memory about the disaster that was THE ARK.

I hope Sweden rebels against his EVIL SCHEME and sends Pernilla Wahlgren.

You know full well Christer's probably been asking Darin to do this for years. I'd love it if his song isn't as good as everyone's expecting. He hasn't released anything decent in years.

Malena Ernman has been blogging for Poplight (formerly Gyllenskor) and says that this year's Globen finals might end up mostly or entirely male singers...

Breathing Your Love is the only song of his that I really like.
