Silas unintentionally killed Heidi, who had donned a black wig and Catwoman attire for a fancy dress party, mistakenly thinking it was Lynsey.

I felt a bit CHEATED by that. I haven't minded the plot holes in this story up too now because let's face it IT'S HOLLYOAKS but NOTHING about the way Heidi met her demise there made any sense. For starters Lynsey smashing Silas over the head with the vase knocked him out and gave her time to escape... so by the time he'd caught up with (who he thought was) her did he not even think to check? Half of the female cast were wearing catsuits! He seems to have stopped killing for any good reason too - he used to kill because he'd been treated like shit by women in his younger years and thinks of all promiscuous women as dirty basically but Lynsey doesn't fit that bill and if he'd killed her everybody would have known it was him after those allegations she made. On top of THAT by killing again (regardless of who he kills) he's basically clearing Brendan's name...

I'm probably looking too much into it but I just think it's kind of jumped the shark a bit now as a storyline and needs to be wrapped up. It definitely peaked with Rae's excellent murder in the Later episodes (which were quite easily among the best soap produced this year).

I've watched Hollyoaks this week (at E4 pace as well) and whilst I quite enjoyed the episode where Silas was confronted, the last two episodes were very much like a Bryan Kirkwood Eastenders climax in that I kept waiting for a twist or a surprise and it just didn't deliver.

This has been beyond dire since the Silas reveal and I'm not sure why the boy who is supposed to Warren Fox's son is the split of Brendan, lip curl and all, but I thought the Warren comeuppance episode tonight was very entertaining. Darren getting the pub back was unlikely but a nice Christmas feel good moment too.

Me neither he's pretty cute, I like that story. Wednesday's episode populated ENTIRELY by teens was some kind of torture. I wish they'd use the adults more. The Mercedes stalking Mitzeee storyline is great fun.

Oh he is, lucky Ste! Yes love the cupboard of random clippings and her FACE OF EVIL when she opens and locks it.

I saw the omnibus (sadly now relegated to e4 by that boring bastard Tim Lovejoy) for the first time since the glory days of Silas and thought it was rather great. The stuff with Mitzee and Mercedes was v good. I could even forgive them for trotting out the ol' faithful 'accidental hash cakes' storyline.

Did i fall asleep and miss who the stalker was? I'm assuming it was Mercedes. I won't ask how Mitzee was doing a PA (and in true Hollyoaks style, getting there for it at 7pm )

I love Doug. He can do better though. He should get with the pretty plot device that Ste was dating off the internet.

OHH jark you've answered my question. I figured it WAS her, because when i woke up again she was doing that marvellously twisted stuff with that man at the club (which i assumed you were talking about for some reason).

They did a special one off ep last week called Chasing Rainbows which had Dennis Savage going to Liverpool to try and persuade his 'friend' Maverick Sabre to headline a a festival in the village. It was UTTERLY PREPOSTEROUS but really, really quite good fun and everything that Hollyoaks is about IMO. In general I'm loving the show right now. The cast is the best I can remember

I think it is quite good at the moment too. They've got the students just about right for the first time in years, and only the rubbish school kids really bring things down. I do wish Nancy, Darren, Jacqui etc could be on screen a bit more though.

I must be watching a different show. The students are god awful, not as bad as the past few years but they really are dreadful.

Also, Danny Mac has become a surprisingly good actor of late. More of Nancy and Darren would improve the show greatly though.

I really love the students and think it is the best bunch since Zoe, Jess, Kris, Zak and Will. The only one I cannot stand is Will Savage. Such a massive try-hard sulky bellend (but fit).

The sixth formers I can take or leave and find their stories generally boring. I despise George.

We need more Jack and Frankie in the mix. The show was on fire when the whole pub siege/fake death story was going on.

I just watched the episode and it was tremendously well done. All spoilers should be BANNED from hereon in, it's so much more effective to get a proper SHOCK DEATH. It's weird to be saying HOLLYOAKS is the best soap right now but it sure enough is.

They kept Lynsey's departure under wraps SO well all this time, then digitalspy went and ruined it just today. I reckon Cheryl did it.

Amazingly done but very sad. I am glad Digital Spy did not plaster it over the front page after the E4 episode.

    shocked

I've not seen it, but what a BRILLIANT thing to do, and exactly what they should be doing to make it seem unmissable i think.

I mean when was the last time a soap killed off one of its main characters as a complete and utter surprise?! The most you ever seem to get is a "so and so is leaving - but will it be in a TAXI or a HEARSE?" type thing, with some bollocks about how they've filmed two different endings (but quite obviously not a further two months of two different storylines SO DON'T LIE, PRODUCERS).

I hope she gets some sort of further career too. She's hot for a girl and quite good at acting with it (imo). I'm just sad we won't get anymore brilliant lunacy between her and the inexplicably returning Silas

Deffo babe. I don't need to watch Corrie because I know when the big the story lines are happening. It's so annoying that it just gets plastered everywhere and it's not like the channels try and stop it with their PROMO PHOTOS. I've already made a quite UNHINGED rant about soap spoilers elsewhere on Moopy so I'll stop now.

I'm utterly devastated that they killed her off. Ok that's a bit of an exaggeration but she was my favourite character on the show, and Karen Hassan is a fabulous little actress. What a way to go out though but it's so sad especially after everything Lynsey went through with Silas she finally met her maker.

There's so many crap characters on the show that Lynsey going will be a loss to the show..

Oh i hope there's more to it than that, and he's orchestrated the whole thing or has a secret key to his prison or something (it's hollyoaks, it's fine).

I really really want them to bring him back EVERY YEAR for a big killing spree. It could be an annual thing, like the freshers arriving in September (but BETTER). We could even vote for who he gets to murder, it would be ace.

There are rumours that this is EXACTLY what has been going on, and it's someone unlikely.

I could think of about TEN people I would like him to bump off, starting with Maddie. I don't think I have EVER disliked a soap character so much in my life. Even lesbian Lydia was more bearable.

I wonder where they will go with the Carmel story. They'll have to go to great lengths with the make-up each time she is on screen unless they do a plastic surgery storyline.

It was a face tanner. The accident was actually quite well done by Hollyoaks standards.

Hollyoaks can be so amazing at times and then total shit at others with those moronic teens. I'd much prefer the show with just the 20 somethings and upwards in it.
