Not sure any of those are big enough promo to cause much of a jump, it's fallen back on iTunes again now too to #61.

Two UK top ten hits from one album for her is already very good, I just want the album to make it to Platinum (which it probably won't at this point).

Not a proper popstar though. More like Martine McCutcheon.

To be fair she's doing a radio interview, not a concert appearence.

Anyway it looks like Dark Side is probably going to miss the top 40. Shame, but it really isn't very good, is it?

It's kept the album ticking over at least.

I think it's a good album track, it just ain't a single. Baffling choice.

I think it will make the top 40 in the end, she's still got a few more appearances ( she's doing The One show or something tonight)

The new hair looks fine, I wasn't really a fan of the bangs so I'll take this

The cover was quite lovely, I'm no fan of the original but she did a good job.

I don't think Dark Side was that bad a choice, nor was it the best though - I'd have gone for I Forgive You or The War Is Over. Hopefully one of them is single #4.

From PopJustice, if you like the 'pop star hating pop star roots' type of thing which Kelly tends to do a lot

Kelly Clarkson was really unhappy after she won American Idol but she’s much better now

‘Can I Have A Kiss’ chanteuse Kelly Clarkson has confessed that she was properly unhappy after she won American Idol.

Talking in the latest issue of Redbook (as quoted here), Clarkson said: “I’m going to be completely honest – I had no one looking out for me. They were looking out for the show, and it was horrible.”

“I was 19 years old. I was smart enough to know that it wasn’t about me, but that didn’t make it any easier,” she continued. “I’m all cried out about it, but my first four years, I hated my life; I almost quit a dozen times.”

Thankfully this all seems to be in the past now and it’s all because she’s shacked up with her manager’s son, Brandon Blackstock.

“Where’s the kick in the ass? I told my assistant that today. I said, ‘I’m just waiting for something to blow up.’ She said, ‘No, that’s what happiness is.’ I’m like, maybe I’ve never been happy! Because Brandon does – he makes me happy.”

    Hurrah!

I saw Kelly Clarkson on The One Show earlier, which was ever so slightly surreal. I've never seen the show before, so maybe it makes more sense in context, but she was just sat there looking confused as they cut to VTs about milking cows and a disabled orchestra. Then that bloke wot raped Stacy Slater turned up and started talking about quadruplets who were taken from their families, which only served to confuse her further, and at the end of the show she just stood there as a man with one hand played the piano.

    My mind was blown.

I liked how BORED she looked by the one-armed piano man and his inspirational story - she pretty much had to be PROMPTED to clap at the end

And THAT is the last time I'll be in a Kelly Clarkson thread.

That Mr Know It All song really does sound like Don't Hold Your Breath to me. I love that she rhymes "all" with "all" and then "y'all". Strewth.

Of course you're ridiculously wrong about the McCutcheon comparison but your'e spot on about Clarkson not being a proper Pop Star. Most proper Pop Stars are actually talentless hacks who look fetching to a 14 year old virgin and who the Universe decided was in the right place at the right time - but for only a little while and then they were banished to wherever Pop Stars go when they use up the temporary supply of faux-talent the Universe loaned them. Unilke McCutcheon 10 years into her career Clarkson has just struck her most significant blow at the Pop Charts with Stronger fortifying a long career that was already at the peak of the Pop Star profession.

I guess the temporary successs of most Pop Stars has caused a time continuum in your frontal lobe resulting in a loss of IQ in your biddle-back and a wart in your waddle socket. Yea.......crushing on Natasha Beddingfield and the like will will do that to you.

    Word on new music:

    Quote Originally Posted by Billboard
Though her fifth studio album "Stronger" is less than a year old, Clarkson was already hard at work on her sixth album over the Labor Day weekend, cutting a pair of tracks with producer Greg Kurstin - the man behind her biggest hit to date, "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)."

Though new material is already in the can, it may be a minute before it sees release. Clarkson is still very much riding the waves of "Stronger," which was certified gold this year and leaped to No. 19 on last week's Billboard 200 on the strength of a $6.99 sale tag at Target stores.

'"Stronger' [the single] was so successful and we're kind of having a hard time getting it off the radio," Clarkson said with a laugh. "And 'Dark Side' [the third single], that's starting to climb so we might be pulling back a bit and waiting. It's a great thing to have such a massive hit, but at the same time kind of a double-edged sword."

The album has also doubled as a calling card for producer Greg Kurstin, who co-wrote "What Doesn't Kill You" and produced "Dark Side." As a result of his success with Clarkson, Kurstin recently teamed up with Pink on six tracks for her album "The Truth About Love," out Sept. 18, including first single "Blow Me (One Last Kiss).

"He's a very focused guy - very much a musician," Clarkson enthused. "He has this whole jazz background, brings kind of a cool element to pop music. The cool thing about it is he gets in the studio and he doesn't have a formula. It's like everything could change. He wasn't that prominent when we worked together. He'd done Lily Allen, but nobody was really wanting me to work with him. Finally my A&R guy Jeff Aldrich was like 'let's get together' and we made this massive hit. So I'm really happy for him."

Everyone's doing a great job - it's a great working relationship right now," Clarkson says of the current RCA team. "It's one of mutual respect, which I have not had in the past."

Clarkson will wrap the U.S. leg of her "Stronger" tour this month before wrapping up in Australia and Europe. Though Australia's always been a good market for Clarkson, the singer wouldn't mind a fanbase as rabid as those of one of her favorite pop singer's.

"They love some Pink down there. It was like what - 50 shows sold out?" Clarkson said, referencing Pink's record-breaking Funhouse tour from 2009. "Pink has invested a lot more outside of the U.S. because outside of the U.S. they responded to her more - and obviously they just have better taste…I loved 'Try This' [from 2003.] She does this one song…I can't remember the name, but it's number 11 ['Walk Away']. She's talking about whiskey, and it just sounds so Janis Joplin. I love it."
Love how she basically credits herself with Greg Kurstin's popularity as a producer

And can we please just have a Kelly/P!nk duet already? It would DESTROY radio like a 21st century HIROSHIMA

A Kelly/Pink duet would be amazing but I'd rather something a bit down-tempo than a Kurstin pop anthem

And it wouldn't be a Kelly interview without a mild JAB at her past music/work/label relationships

"[The current RCA team] is one of mutual respect, which I have not had in the past."
Re: "Dark Side" - while it's not one of her strongest singles, I kind of get the excuse that "Stronger" is too big for it to really take off in the States... until just a week or so ago it was top 20 in airplay still. I don't think "Dark Side" has even entered the top 40? I guess their best bet is to toss out another single in October in case it succeeds in the holiday season and boosts album sales again. The new album can wait until Summer or Fall 2013.

I can see her doing a Maroon 5 - releasing an album quickly full of WDKY-sounding songs. I'd say yes to that anyway! Slightly disappointed we're not getting a fourth single from 'Stronger' but didn't think we would somehow.

No to a P!nk-Kelly duet though. They have literally the same voice.

I would LOVE an album of WDKY(S) retreads

I would ALSO love a P!nk duet, but I would prefer if it was a ballad or at least a mid-tempo.

Perhaps it's just me, but there are some songs I just can't hear the difference. "All I Ever Wanted" for example. I think they must sometimes have similar productions on their voice.

Pink's voice has a much lower tone, no? And I'd argue Kelly is more of a natural fit for soul than Pink who tends to do better at the rock ballad thing.

I certainly wouldn't say that Pink and Kelly Clarkson have the same vocal range. The high bits on Pink's new song sound a TAD out of her comfort zone to these ears, like they were written FOR Kelly Clarkson.

I think she was due one anyway, this year marks 10 years since she won American Idol.

I hope for something like this

    1. A Moment Like This (it has to be there so )
    2. Breakaway
    3. Miss Independent
    4. NEW SONG
    5. Since You've been gone
    6. My Life Would Suck Without You
    7. Because Of You
    8. Low
    9. Stronger
    10. NEW SONG
    11. Behind These Hazel Eyes
    12. Mr. Know It All
    13. Never Again
    14. Already Gone
    15. Sober
    16. Walk Away
    DELUXE EDITION
    17. The Trouble With Love Is
    18. Don't Waste Your Time
    19. Dark Side

Just Like JLO ignored Play, we can ignore I Do Not Hook Up and if the bitch includes singles that didn't have a video/weren't officially released like One Minute, Cry or All I Ever Wanted I'll cut a bitch

It's about the right time for one. 'Stronger''s been one of her more successful campaigns recently (opver here anyway) and she's got enough hits to rack up a decent one-disc GH. I think a GH could do quite well you know...

And I liked 'I Do Not Hook Up'.
