Not a bad choice if we can highjack one of the floors.

Top up, Sue?
How odd RB, that's what I'm looking at currently. It looks expensive though. Is it?
Er... I LIKE Johnkm.
And Heinz is hardly INOFFENSIVE. Anyone that clearly SELF OBSESSED to need TWO THREADS to announce he's coming to a country, needs bringing down a peg or two QUICKSMART.
To FLY IN FOR THIS or NOT TO FLY IN FOR THIS, that is the question.![]()
Nothing to see here MOVE ALONG.
Will Helen_S care for The Edge?
A quick google tells me a lot of reviewers consider The Edge to be tiny and pretensious, but then reviewers never do seem to be pleased
what does otm mean?
The Edge is FINE. If anything it's not tiny or pretentious ENOUGH for me.

'Sue, did the President call?' ... 'No' Last.fm
Isn't the Edge quite busy straight after work on Fridays?

otm = on the money
Right?

Oh I heard funky's just suggested having a lycheeni party at his Notting Hill pad.
What about The Escape bar, or Friendly Society? I'm literally going by what I'm reading on review sites here so don't crush me if they're hideous. Also I'm totally not snubbing The Edge, I'm just checking out all possibilities!
Escape is super trashy and not very nice but I love it!
Friendly Society used to be great but is really small, really pricey and a bit of a claustrophobic hell hole.
i vote wetherspoons
Oh I definitely can't do overly claustrophobic places!
Jark, aren't you 6ft5 or something? Friendly Society is a definite no go.
Yes, you need to tell me where I can't even CONSIDER given that I'm 6'4 (and so is Johnkm I think). Mind you the roof is about 6'2 where I work and I manage![]()
lol @ RB needing a ladder to talk to you.
I surrender to every word you whisper
ku bar off of leicester square? nice and spacy
Yes KU looks nice from what research I've done. So are we thinking either KU or The Edge? How do they compare, for people who've been to both?
The last guy I dated before cwej was 6ft 5 and we coped just fine thanks. I'll just sit on Jark and JohnKM's knees when I want to talk to them.
I love Ku Bar. It will be rammed on Friday night to the point where we can't move. It's deffo a cheaper option than The Edge though.
Edge would be more suitable than Ku.
Unless you can get the upstairs at Ku?

why can't we do the infamous BREWERS or whatever it's called![]()
Well wherever we go are we not going to like rent a booth or something? I'm not bothered if not so long as we're able to move / don't need to spend hours queueing at the bar. Sounds like The Edge will be more up my street.
Edge is probably the best place for this.
I WILL GET REAL GRIMEY. I WILL START CUTTIN' UP CLOTHES.
The Edge is definitely the sort of place where you can talk more than Ku. Don't think you can reserve tables in The Edge but if you're there before 7 it'll be fine.
The Brewers is in Clapham, jiva, so isn't very handy. Also, the Brewers is where you go for HARDCORE CLUBBING, not talking!![]()
How can ANYONE call The Edge 'small and pretentious'??? It's so not pretentious AT ALL.
I love Friendly Society but admittedly haven't been for a couple of years, quite pricey though.
Escape is DREADFUL.
I really think The Edge is perfect for Moopymeet type things - it's nice without being too pricey OR pretentious.
so THE EDGE it is then.
let's nominate people to get there early to save a table
I'm happy to get their early and knock a few drinks back for dutch courageAlthough that would involve missing Emmerdale...
well i'll probably still be in london after the robyn gig the night before, so i don't mind.
i'm not doing it alone though.
unless i get a bottle of wine and sunglasses
I'm supposed to be on a TOUR OF SCOTLAND around that time, but if I'm not, I'll come.
