How odd RB, that's what I'm looking at currently. It looks expensive though. Is it?

    Er... I LIKE Johnkm.

And Heinz is hardly INOFFENSIVE. Anyone that clearly SELF OBSESSED to need TWO THREADS to announce he's coming to a country, needs bringing down a peg or two QUICKSMART.

A quick google tells me a lot of reviewers consider The Edge to be tiny and pretensious, but then reviewers never do seem to be pleased

The Edge is FINE. If anything it's not tiny or pretentious ENOUGH for me.

Not really. It's not cheap, but then I'm guessing we don't want to do this in a Wetherspoons.

Isn't the Edge quite busy straight after work on Fridays?

What about The Escape bar, or Friendly Society? I'm literally going by what I'm reading on review sites here so don't crush me if they're hideous. Also I'm totally not snubbing The Edge, I'm just checking out all possibilities!

Escape is super trashy and not very nice but I love it!

Friendly Society used to be great but is really small, really pricey and a bit of a claustrophobic hell hole.

Yes KU looks nice from what research I've done. So are we thinking either KU or The Edge? How do they compare, for people who've been to both?

I love Ku Bar. It will be rammed on Friday night to the point where we can't move. It's deffo a cheaper option than The Edge though.

Edge would be more suitable than Ku.

Unless you can get the upstairs at Ku?

Well wherever we go are we not going to like rent a booth or something? I'm not bothered if not so long as we're able to move / don't need to spend hours queueing at the bar. Sounds like The Edge will be more up my street.

The Edge is definitely the sort of place where you can talk more than Ku. Don't think you can reserve tables in The Edge but if you're there before 7 it'll be fine.

The Brewers is in Clapham, jiva, so isn't very handy. Also, the Brewers is where you go for HARDCORE CLUBBING, not talking!

How can ANYONE call The Edge 'small and pretentious'??? It's so not pretentious AT ALL.

I love Friendly Society but admittedly haven't been for a couple of years, quite pricey though.

    Escape is DREADFUL.

I really think The Edge is perfect for Moopymeet type things - it's nice without being too pricey OR pretentious.
