Amazing poster. I am SO excited for this film.

The audio from the prologue has leaked (albeit in bootleg form) and Bane sounds absolutely demented. There were complaints from those who saw an advanced screening that the mask was causing his voice to be muffled but the voice is great. A cross between a British Hugo Strange and one of the Helghast from the Killzone series.

If you thought The Joker was fucked up, Bane is taking it to NEW LEVELS.

Both the prologue and the trailer have leaked, but they're being pulled left, right and centre by Warner Bros. so I won't try and post anything.

Basically; the prologue sets up Bane's back story and is very similar to the Joker bank heist in The Dark Knight. Bane is needed for information and allows himself to be captured. A few people are onboard a plane and interrogated. A couple of hooded hostages are thrown out of the plane until Bane pipes up. Another plane is tailing the hostage one and to cut a long story short, the hostage plane goes down with no survivors as Bane's already killed pretty much everyone on board.

The trailer is FULL of different shots, no sign of Catwoman in the suit although there's plenty of shots of Selina and a monologue from her too. Amazing shot of a baseball stadium giving way due to Bane planting charges that cause half the pitch to cave in. A lone player is running for a home run when he turns around and finds the pitch has give way. Lots of shots of destruction and anarchy. Bane telling Batman "When Gotham is in ashes, you'll have my permission to die." Batman is completely unmasked here and looks on the verge of death.

HD version of the trailer will of course be playing before Sherlock Holmes 2 and will be released online on Monday

The trailer looks okay... there's not a whole lot to go on mind

This said I think I haven't watched the same one as described above because there is no Selina Kyle at all

The Guardian have done a piece about the prologue

    Quote Originally Posted by Guardian
Reports from similar US screenings have tended to range from mild hysteria to utter bamboozlement. I have to say that I lean towards the latter: like the prologue to its predecessor, a pinpoint-precise Michael Mann meets Frank Miller heist scene, the opening bars of The Dark Knight Rises are all about the bad guy, in this case the brooding bull-shouldered form of Tom Hardy's Bane. And we are utterly incapable of understanding anything Bane says, whatsoever.

As the prologue begins we see a cocky CIA man (played by Aidan Gillen, and frankly who better for the role?) climbing on to a plane with three captives. Two are hooded, handcuffed and bowed, and one of those has the build of a brawny street fighter. Can you tell who it is yet?

Hardy's been waiting for this moment all his acting life, and he more than deserves it. Standout supporting roles in Nolan's Inception and surprisingly good UFC fight movie Warrior earlier this year, coupled with an arresting turn as Britain's most dangerous prisoner in Nicolas Winding Refn's Bronson put him here, but opening the year's most heavily anticipated movie is surely his biggest gig yet. The hood is ripped away and a menacing mug stares straight into the camera, muzzled by an elaborate mask that makes him look like a particularly surly rottweiler.

"*%&DFFFG!G!," Bane says, coolly, in a voice that is one-part plummy 1930s dandy, one part Darth Vader and about 100 parts white noise. "F&£$%*$!" "^%^HH**%!"

By this point all talk of Nolan wanting to use the prologue to persuade cinemagoers to see the film at their nearest Imax (a large amount of footage has been shot on the bigger Imax cameras especially for this purpose) begins to seem rather beside the point. Bane miraculously extricates himself from his unpromising position with an army of flying engineers who attack from another plane, disable the smaller CIA aircraft and tow it beneath them in what appears to be one of the most impressive (and seemingly CGI-free) action set pieces in Hollywood history. But it all rather pales into insignificance compared to the rather severe issue of not being able to understand a word Hardy says.

At certain US cinemas in 1996, the story goes (and it may be an urban myth), Danny Boyle's Trainspotting, that much-loved tale of perky Scots smack addicts out for whatever they can get in mean old Edinburgh, was screened with subtitles because the locals could not make head nor tale of it. Nolan might have to consider employing the same method whenever Bane says something in The Dark Knight Rises, because it's the only way we're going to be able to understand what he's on about. Word is the film-maker may choose to tweak the sound. In any case, something needs to be done here, because the current situation does not bode well for the rest of the movie ...

I still have my reservations about the relentless bleakosity of this film but Anne looks pretty FAB in the trailer and that alone has me on board.

I preferred it when the ears were just goggles or whatever they were doing in the initial promo pics.

But no matter, she looks ace, and, despite only having a passing interest in the previous two, I'm quite excited for this.

I remember The Dark Knight opening when I was in Manhattan one weekend and the entire city just went NUTS

I imagine the post production looping sessions are going to be a nightmare, seeing as nobody can apparently understand Bale OR the rubber lipped one!

Ugh aren't they keeping Bane as a mumbler?

Bloody Nolan. Although I didn't realise he was involved in the new Superman and also the Justice League coming up. Tho this Batman wouldn't fit in with Martians and Wonder Woman.

it's Bane who's the biggest problem and apparently Nolan is not so hot on redoing the vocals (he will of course). i prefer the goggles as well because it's more modern day Catwoman but she looks ace.

i think they are going to hit reset once this comes out and move into less dark, more family friendly territory for the next Batman release.

Bale was enough of a problem in the previous two and I can't imagine Warners are going to let him get away with two entirely unintelligible characters. The IMAX sound system has been blamed for the difficulty in comprehension but it's clearly going to take some major tweaking before release.

Who the hell is Louie?! I really hope it's the character Liberace played.

King Tut is of course BEYOND REPROACH.

Louie was played by Milton Berle

Liberace played the fiendish Chandell and twin brother Harry.

Joan tweeted the other day about seeing herself as the Siren she wasn't impressed

    Egghead also to appear

Nolan pulled the first trailer and replaced it with the retouched version within a few days when people kicked up a fuss over Bane's voice, so he'll have definitely gone over the whole film.

Hathaway looks great, I just hope she has the charisma and raw sex appeal to pull the role off. The "You'll wonder how you could live so large, yet leave so little for the rest of us" line in the trailer was perfectly played, but she's going to have to be consistent throughout.

WTF at Bane's voice. He sounds a bit like Yoda on that line in the middle. I quite liked the last two (though i much prefer the Burton ones) but literally nothing excites me about this film in any way shape or form so far.

And i'm no dUb when it comes to Anne Hathaway, but i really cannot see her as Catwoman either, unless this is some sort of frigid librarian interpretation of Selina Kyle. She has the sexuality and sex appeal of someone's dead nanna.
