Well today's the big day. I love Sams Spider-man and hate the idea of a reboot, but after some positive reviews I'm hoping this will surprise me.

Oh i really really liked this. It's quite long, a bit odd structure wise, some bits plain don't work, and it likes to lay on the sugar, but i found it completey charming and lovely and warm, and full of nice little moments. It is a bit different to most superhero films in that characters act a little bit more like actual human beings (or at least film versions of actual human beings) and sometimes talk about things other than the plot, and i really did give a big shit about basically everyone as a result.
A lot of its success (for me at least) is down to the performances i think. Everyone is basically GREAT. I really can't actually think of a superhero that i now prefer to Garfield's Spider-Man, nor a superhero's Standard Lady Issue Love Interest that i liked as much as Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey. And i LOVED Aunt May and Uncle Ben, and i didn't think Field was underused considering who she was playing (i can understand a bit of what monsta's saying, but there really wasn't much more time for things like that, and i thought that it was hinted at well enough. Also: BUY TROPICANA). And HOORAY that Sally Field has not gone down the plastic face route. I hope it pays off with lots of lovely older lady film and tv roles that the likes of taught scrotefaced Mary McDonnell are now too fucked up to do. I also thought Rhy Ifans was really great, and he usually pisses me right off. The Lizard was a bit shit design wise though, wasn't he.
Overall i'd say it's not as neatly plotted as the first Spider-Man, but a fair bit more appealing. They really are a different kettle of fish though. Oh and BEST STAN LEE CAMEO YET. And i agree with that tumblr thing about the main plothole being that we were expected to believe that a boy genius like Peter Parker would use BING as his search engine of choice. AS IF

Alot of its already been said so I wont blather on to much, but I enjoyed it a lot.
I took my mom and she loved it, she turned to me at the end and said sorry Tobey Maguire.

I thought this was great. I should say that I haven't seen any of the original trilogy so have nothing to compare it to, but I thought it had the right mix of action and humour. Enjoyed it more than Avengers, Thor, or Captain America.
I agree, that bit was great. However the best bit for me was when all the cranes were lining up, I actually got tingly at that point.

If being myself is what I do wrong
Then I would rather not be right
I was a bit surprised that the 3D in this was so lame. I could have saved a few bucks and just did the regular film.
The only bit where it really worked was when he shot his load over the audience at the end.
I saw this in a D-Box seat (which rumbles and moves around). What a gimmick but it's FUN!
Oh my god, I absolutely LOVED this. I've not even seen any of the Maguire/Dunst films to comment, but I thought this was brilliant in every sense.
Funny, moving, action packed, knowing without being insular and overly self-referential... just fantastic as a standalone film for someone like me who has no attachment to the story. Garfield and Stone were SENSATIONAL. I've never seen such charismatic leads with such well developed and believable characters in a superhero film before I don't think. Sally Field just has to look slightly pained and forlorn to set me off and she did several times throughout this. God, she's manipulative, that woman...
I just thought it was everything I'd want a film like this to be. Light, bright entertainment that moved at a decent pace and kept me entertained the whole way through. Perfection.
I really loved it and the GARF is just BEAUTIFUL. After watching some of the original today, I realized that this reboot was really necessary because the McGuire was such a WETTY and lacked any emotional connection like this new one did. Emma Stone is lovely as well. I gave it a 9 because it felt like it took a dip about 3/4 in but then it went back to being perfect.
Who else had the biggeston their face when he was asking Gwen out. SUCH A BABE.

andrew garfield is like a SEXY PUPPY. SO HOT but i feel WEIRD at the same time.
anyway i thought this was BORING and BLAH felt like a pilot for a live-action Spiderman TV series rather than a BIG SUMMER FILUM.
I cant stop reading reviews of this. Am I the only one who likes the score.
since i'm stuck up writing I've been pondering the sequels. I wonder when Mary Jane will make an appearance, if they will warp Emma into Mary Jane, get Mila Kunis to play Mary Jane or Miley Cyrus lol.
Will Carnage finally be an enemy, if so will the do the Maximum Carnage storyline, could be their answer to The Avengers.

Superb film! I have never been overly struck on the Lizard as a villain but it was enjoyable enough.
It's like you're screaming . . . and no one can hear;
you almost feel ashamed . . . that someone could be that important
