    geek TV Recommendations

...for things that might not warrant their own thread

I'm currently watching The Battle For Barking, a feature-length documentary about the BNP vs. Labour fight for that seat in the general election.

It is FABULOUS and is on 4oD: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/t...ng/4od#3145017

Oh, wonderful idea. I'm really not watching enough TV atm. And, as a result, I don't see trailers for any upcoming new shows - so seem to be constantly out of the loop.

Despite the weather, I have somehow developed a nesting instinct of late. Thus, I have become pretty OBSESSED with Kirsty's Homemade Home.

    I JUST WANT TO STENCIL.
I WILL GET REAL GRIMEY. I WILL START CUTTIN' UP CLOTHES.

Last night I watched that thing on BBC1 where they turn a high street into one from the past and see how people react - I hadn't seen the earlier ones but last night was the 1960s and the introduction of self-service shops and supermarkets, which was quite interesting. The poor bloke running an old-fashioned 'Open All Hours' style shop had to close after nearly having a BREAKDOWN

I saw the Victorian one of them, and the family nearly went broke after having to refund all their loaves because they burnt them and they tasted salty. Plus they only cooked about five in the first place.

I made a thread for that

I still need to watch episode two. But I worship the ground she walks on and can only hope that with the upturn of the housing market comes another series of seminal classic Property Ladder

I dont know if its been mentioned anywhere before but "Getting On" with Jo Brand is HILARIOUS. Its on BBC4 although I think it may have finished now, but you can still iplayer it. Its like The Office but set in a hospital and its TEN TIMES funnier.

Yes, Getting On is AMAZING I've missed most of this series, but I'll be having a catch up session soon I think.

I'm currently watching Animal Madhouse on C4, which I like because it reminds me of Animal Hospital (and also because the two younger male vets are clearly GAY AS YOU LIKE )

Actually ignore that recommendation, there was just a close-up of a dog doing some LOOSE STOOLS and I've turned over to Corrie
