    active child

after his resounding success in the last song for moopy , i think active child deserves a thread

i love his entire EP and his latest single with its weird, weird video

Active Child - I'm In Your Church At Night from Active Child on Vimeo.

Oh ameraal, it would seem you and I are very much on the same page musically, at least in regards to current music. I love this guy. "When Your Love Is Safe" was probably my favourite song of last year... I think I put "Wilderness" in my top 20 list too. This is the first time I'm hearing the new single though, it's good. And yay Mats for taking an interest.

He's had the new album streaming on HypeM since Monday. Reviews are similiar to Washed Out for the most part - a few brilliant tracks, but everything else sort of blends together with little depth. So far I think it's one of the most beautiful albums I've heard in ages... and the lowkey tracks seem like growers.

God he's just everything, isn't he? I think this will definately end up my favourite album this year. Did you get the bonus track, "Call Me Tonight", Am? It's a bit more upbeat and pop than his usual fare but just amazing.

no! thanks for the heads up

i can't single out a favourite they're just all quite amazing, but if i had to besides 11/10 track hangin' on it'd have to be boombastic see thru eyes and the knife-esque way too fast (the bass on that is subtly mindblowing)

I'm about a year late, but I am loving I'm In Your Church At Night, I rediscovered it on a blog recently and I'm loving it, despite the video which I have no idea what it is supposed to mean at all. Anyway I'm downloading the new album NOW, is it more of the same then?

I've got a muscial backlog at the moment so I've just got round to listening to this. I absolutely love it. I can't stop listening to 'Hanging On' and 'Ivy'. The harp-synth combo is so lovely on the latter, it really doesn't require any vocals.

^It's a ONE MAN SHOW (unless you generally include producers in such pronouncements). That remix is tied with the original for my favourite song of the year now. I just don't know which is better. More black chorists please. Also further investigation reveals he's not bad on the eyes either... he looks entirely COMMON in photographs but rather nice in motion. Now to see him live (as the current tour is just ending).

    Try looking in the desert.

    A normal person must
    Dismiss you with disgust
And weep for those who trusted you.
