    ZEN

New three-part crime drama starting Sunday 2nd Jan on BBC1.

Based on the books by Michael Dibdin and starring Rufus Sewell as the Italian detective Aurelio Zen, and Caterina Murino (from Casino Royale) as his love interest. The series is filmed on location in Italy and apparently combines humour and HIGH DRAMA so I should be on board.

I assume nobody watched this. It's two episodes in now and it's really good. Quite slow with long segments where not much happens and then bursts of activity that can be hard to follow, and slightly ODD what with most of them having English accents even though they've got Italian names, but it's quite entertaining and the two leads are both extremely good.

I tried to watch the first episode, but it was SO SO boring, I gave up after 25 minutes.

I watched the first episode, which I enjoyed after a rather slow first half. I agree the mix of Italian accents and non-Italian accents was a little strange, but I liked the look and feel of it and Sewell was good.

Recorded the second one, which I will get around to at some point. The DOI televisual experience came first last night.
