i was watching a couple of gabourey sidibe interviews inspired by her turn in the big c and i was just thinking she might be a bit of mini/maxi qol and then i saw the second part of this interview where she effectively says she only saw one of her fellow oscar nominees

as someone who tries to watch all the noms religiously (and i'm not even an actor) i literally cannot understand this - is it general disinterest towards acting, being a bit up your arse or just random sloppiness





rant aside, she's cute though obviously all her jokes are premeditated which kinda ruins it a bit

Jennifer Hudson reall got on my goat that year when she won as she'd also expressed some disinterest in the other movies.

I suppose with these one off newcomer nominees, they're not exactly courting the attention and leading a huge campaign. Although if I was having regular dinners and luncheons with these people in the weeks of the the Oscar ride, I'd probably give them the courtesy of watching their films.

And of her fellow nominees An Education is the only one worth seeing anyway (imo). Assuming she's seen Precious as well.

Does she have a big role in the Big C? I'm pleased she's found regular work, if so. Roles for morbidly obese black girls don't come around very often.

Also, good posters of america, how did her mother do on America's Got Talent in the end?

nah, she's credited as a guest star
she does a pretty good job though i can't make out if her eyes are closed half the time

there was a scene where she was going on about her "titties"

Is The Big C actually any good?

I love Laura Linney but some of the dialogue in the trailer I saw looked abysmal.

it's ok, some pretty strong moments, a nice cast and a very good laugh from time to time, if a bit too earnest and not in a good way now and then
and it is about cancer
