Life As We Know It
Drag Me To Jell
Pirates of the Caribbean
Inland Empire (I thought it was meh but the whole experience was awful, a packed theater full of people who got bored after about 20 minutes)
The Dark Knight
I'll think of more later...
Your LEAST favourite films of all time
I think we've had lots of favourite film threads, but i don't remember looking at the flipside.
So inspired by the talk of Lynch's Inland Empire in the Black Swan thread, what films did you absolutely fucking hate?
Life As We Know It
Drag Me To Jell
Pirates of the Caribbean
Inland Empire (I thought it was meh but the whole experience was awful, a packed theater full of people who got bored after about 20 minutes)
The Dark Knight
I'll think of more later...
The Knowing
The Dark Knight
are the first 2 which spring to mind, I'm sure I'll be able to add plenty more once I have a good think about it.
'Sue, did the President call?' ... 'No' Last.fm
I tend to avoid anything that gets a universal panning, so these are probably a bit more divisive, but the three films i remember hating so much that i was in a blind rage upon leaving the cinema are -
1. Inland Empire, obv
2. Avatar
3. Vicky Christina Barcelona
Oh how i despised them.
I tend to only properly hate films i saw at the cinema, because i'm not held captive by anything on tv or dvd. That shit just gets switched off.
Mama Mia (Hated the movie and musical, how could they take such a joyous thing and make it so dreary is beyond me)
This will take a lot of thought![]()
hmmmm..... I tend not to really hate many films as I usually see some value in everything, I'm so easily pleased at the cinema. That said, there's a ton of things I've been proper disappointed by
but I'll see if I can think of the truly hateful first
this is where my beloved flickchart comes in very handy... :geek:
Little Miss Sunshine
Top up, Sue?
Y'know some of the films deemed by BORING CRITICS as the worst ever (Showgirls, Grease 2, I Know Who Killed Me) are amongst my ALL-TIME GREATS.
The one film I cannot abide is The Family Stone. HIDEOUS in every single way. Any movie which makes you sympathise with Sarah Jessica Parker post-Hocus Pocus is CLEARLY doing something wrong. The GAY HISPANIC DEAF ADOPTED SON (who was a VILE CUNT), his BLACK boyfriend and their ASIAN baby was such a horrific plot device that even Benetton were appalled.
ORACLE of great taste Jark loves The Family Stone.
Says it all really.

I don't want to litter only recent movies off the top of my head, but I will say that I think my 3/10 for Avatar at the time was very generous. Seeing scenes in the Blu Ray section of HMV at the weekend, it even looks like total shit and the animation or whatever you call it looked horrible to my eyes. So even with the shit story, script and acting which lovers of the film have even admitted to, visually it's crap for me too.

Sex And The City.
When the best moment in the movie is one of the protagonists shitting themselves, you know it's dreck.
You are a depraved bird of hate, get out of my sight!
1408
Fantastic Four
Fantastic Four 2
Lady In The Water
Starsky & Hutch
The Phantom Of The Opera
Moulin Rouge
Lost In Space
The Peacemaker
The Guardian
The International
The Ring (US)
Super Mario Bros
Superman (reboot)
The Lawnmower Man
Richie Rich
Constantine
Suburban Commando
The Day The Earth Stood Still (2008)
Garfield
Jaws The Revenge
The Island
A.I.

Dreamcatchers
thank you Flickchart.
Off the top of my head 'Species 2' and 'The Accidental Tourist' spring to mind
And if we stay together
We'll feel the rhythm of the evening taking us up high
Never mind the weather
We'll be dancing in the street until the morning light
What dark recess of your brain did you pull SUBURBAN COMMANDO from?![]()
I liked Richie Rich![]()
LOVE, ACTUALLY

The Dark Knight was shit.
Nina Nannar knits knickers in Neasdon
Please buy my stuff, I do crazy bag discount
flickchart captures every film you rank and then orders them for you so after a while you build up a huge list based on what you've ranked. I go in there every few weeks and add what I've seen recently. It's the first time I've ever ordered and looked at them from the bottom end - what a USELESS selection of movies! I mean THE MASK for instance - I remember liking it at the time about 20 years ago but in what lifetime will I EVER watch THAT again?
no.
that's the other thing - not many i truly hate based on sheer "how was this ever released?" bewilderment as I tend to know in advance what I'm going to hate so won't watch it. FROM JUSTIN TO KELLY for instance
sometimes though something you expect to at least enjoy renders you utterly speechless. Dreamcatchers, The Island and 1408 are the three that immediately spring to mind.
The Jim Carrey 'The Mask'? Christ alive, that's 17 years old. HOW?
The only thing good about Love, Actually is the CLOSING CREDITS
(And that's not just a glib remark, I love the song)
It's only positive is that it failed to launch the career of the British J-Lo.
That ALICE IN WONDERLAND shit from last year.
Top up, Sue?
I've only ever seen snippets from The Mask 2 on telly so can't count it but based on that alone it'd definitely put it up at the very top.
It's the guy from Scream isn't it? Talk about a career killer. From that to playing a dirty rent boy in As Good As It Gets, to complete NOTHING
The only two (I THINK) films I have walked out of are
Spawn and Snow Cake (that's your cue funks!)
GOOD ONE
Edit: That reads harsher than I meant it! Should have used a![]()

I can't imagine many of you have had the misfortune to see Halloween:Resurrection but it's catastrophically bad. All the good work from H20 undone by Busta Rhymes KUNG-FUING MICHAEL MYERS TO DEATH.

APOLS if that was a spoiler BTW.
