Maybe it's the fact I've listened lots of times to the live version, but it is quite easy to tell when he's doing most of the singing himself and even then he's not earth shatteringly awful.

I think Europe definitely wants schlager from Sweden. Look at that monstrous Danish song last year.

Send something like Friends, Carola, Lena Ph, Fame and it'll be top ten.

Unless it is sung by a strange looking monochrome woman in a short dress.

I was shocked it won really. I thought after that stage show it was Love Generation's for the taking, or at least Nicke Borg. I do think it's a shame that this did so well when it's just a second rate Varsta Schlagern when stuff like Alla flickor had to fight its way to the final...

The videos on the svt site are very odd - Jenny Silver's video just has the backing track playing during the verses and you can't hear her, and during Dilba's you hear how the last word of every line is pre-recorded

Watching the videos back, Loreen and Brolle really did bring two of the best vocals of the whole competition. No nerves, no duff notes just two bloody good vocals.

I feel it's time for an AC entry to win in Globen (I don't mind if it's Loreen or Love Generation).

I think I'll go crazy if Sara Varga manages to beat them all.

Nope, I personally have known he can't sing long before then...even his RECORDED voice sounds AWFUL.

As I've said, he hasn't got VOX but he can definitely hold a tune if he needs to.

I really hope she has a different outfit for AC and the final if she makes it.

Much as I love Loreen, of the songs in the top half of AC, it would not be my choice to make it through. I'd rather Love Generation.

And I have much love for Something In Your Eyes, but it's clearly going nowhere in the final, so I'd rather it didn't take the place of one of those two.

I'm now resigned to the fact that Jenny is the outsider in her half of AC

On the plus side though, there is a 3/4 chance of something AWESOME making it through in that half, and also a good chance of Linda Pritchard WIPING THE FLOOR with the competition in the other half.

I literally change my mind depending on which track was the last I listened to I THINK I've just about managed to work out a preference for Jenny over Love Generation on a listening level (although that doesn't mean I'm any closer to deciding which I'd rather made it through AC), but I'm no nearer deciding who I'd rather made it through between them and Loreen.

Shirley's chafing thighs overcame your doubts once before and I have FULL CONFIDENCE they will do so once more

She'd do better to sort out her odd hunchback stance.

Surely that's good though, because it means, like me, that you'll be happy with most outcomes (even though it's blatantly going to be Sara bloody Varga).

I'm trying not to let myself get behind any particular song out of the 5 I love in AC, so that I won't end up being disappointed, say, if Shirley's Angels make it through, even though I prefer Linda P.

I'd be alright with that, as long as it's one of the two.

To be honest I'm most concerned about the friend I'm going with. So far in the final I really like 5 out of the 8 songs, and Nicke Borg is ALRIGHT. But my friend only likes about 3-4 of them so far and I really want him to enjoy it! Therefore I'm backing Linda Pritchard because he is crazy about her! Even though I'm sure I can talk him round to Shirley given time...

I can't bring myself to favour any one over the others as the quality's so high. I mean, I probably wouldn't mind too much if Shirley got knocked out by Linda, but whatever happens in the top half I'm going to be mourning SOMETHING. The absolute worst would be a Sara + Moniker/Pernilla choice, which would be the ultimate in complete sod's law.

Top half is Loreen all the way foir me, SIYE is a little bit too much 'every schlager trick in the book' for me, while 'Dance Alone' is solid but unspectacular, much like the girls themselves.

Not really, of the 3 songs, at least 2 of them will not be making it. It's just being realistic/dramatic.

It is, but when you look at a final including the likes of Brolle and The Playtones, and then you look at Jenny, Loreen, and Love Generation, who have three of the best songs of this year's contest, you can't help but be a bit annoyed that only one of the last three is going to make it.

True (particularly the latter). But would a better way to look at it not be that there's a VERY high probability that a song you love will make it through? Much better odds than you'd usually get in Andra Chansen which is usually a shower of shite.

That being said I was quite pessimistic and convinced that Sara Varga would make it but i now think that Love Generation could take her

Ah come on, you can think what you want about the k.o.-format but Andra Chansen has usually brought some good stuff into Globen.

Dance Alone is now available in the Dutch iTunes store. I hope to see My Heart is Refusing Me there very soon as well.
