Not sold on the vocals yet, but Dance Alone sounds like a winner to me

It sounds like Love Generation do the modern pop song that Danny and Eric Saade were going for SO MUCH BETTER. The ginger one is a bit ropey though.

Dance Alone and E Det Fel Pa Mej are the best songs by a COUNTY MILE. Alive is alright.

Leaving Home is everything I hate in a 'rock' song but it's definitely gonna do well. SIGH.

Looks like I need to give Dance Alone another listen. It sounded mediocre at best to me.

I really really think it's going to be Linda B and Love Generation DTG, even though I don't normally think my favourites will make it. It happened with Charlotte & Linda in 2008 and it WILL happen again this week. *prays*

I'm with Kevin though, Love Generation's vocals need some fine tuning but if they sort it out they'll probably STORM to Globen.

The 2nd and 4th line of Linda's chorus completely ruin the melody of the chorus, it could have been a massive schlager stomper but those lines just throw it off.

I don't think the Love Generation song sound particularly modern at all really. It sounds great though!

I think I actively dislike the Melody Club song. What happened to them? They used to be so great. This song sounds really boring and the performance is quite off-putting.

However, I can totally see what Schlagerprofilerna were on about when they were complaining about the performance.

That clip looks thoroughly uninspired, she'll really have to give it her all if she wants to make those first two minutes work.

I don't agree about Linda's chorus at all! I think it's mainly the 2nd and 4th lines that bring out the schlagerness

Once more, jonathan's first listen impression:

    Melody Club
Very very mor-ish radio friendly stuff. Not really doing anything for me. It's a nice melody and all that, but not breathtaking 5/10

    Julia Alvgard
Lucy, what are you doing in Malmö? And where is the accent and the horrible voice? Not bad at tall, but I feel she is doing a Sarah L. 7/10

    Lasse Stefanz
Melody-wise this reminds me of a big old hit. Again mor-ish. Good melody. 7,5/(10

    Linda Pritchard
Wow, she's belting it out. Very Anna Vissi indeed. Evanescence light. Big power ballad, I feel we needed something like this for the Globen. FABULOUS 10/10

    Anders Fernette

He is such a hottie The song is good. 9/10

    Linda Bengtzing
She simply delivers again. Not a super-instant melody but I hear lots of potential for hit. 8,5/10

    Nicke Borg
The look is the perfect contrast to vanilla Eric Saade and all that stuff MF is about. Power rock-ballad, very typical for Epicentre. Not my type of thing though. 5/10

    Love Generation
Schlager meets RedOne. Powerful stuff. I like how it builds up for the inevitable catchy chorus. The hookline could have been a bit more instant I feel. But I'm happy their career starts off eventually. The position should help them to get AC minimum. 7,5/

yes, but that's because lines 1+3 are completely identical to the opening chorus line of "Tro Pa Karlekan" by Carola, so much so that it just makes me want to listen to Carola instead

and the verses in Lasse Stefanz are wholesale "C'est La Vie" by Lotta, Bette and Kikki from 2004!

Oh now that's FAR closer to the truth than the Friends comparison. I thought it sounded a bit familiar but I just couldn't quite put my finger on it.

    My ranking:

    1. Love Generation
    2. Melody Club
    3. Julie Alvgaard (this isn't for the competition but it grows on you and will become a fan favourite like "A Place to Stay" by Jenny Silver
    4. Nicke Borg (now if this was sung by a woman guys...)
    5. Linda P
    6. Linda B (just too much like an already existing song I love, and a weaker version at that. It's also VERY eighties schlager, like ridiculously so. I don't think is gonna wash with Sweden on Saturday)
    7. Anders Fernette (firstly, changing your name from Johansson to this is not going to make you go INTERNATIONAL. It's a shame that his original entry for this was disqualified because it was an enjoyable piece of JC Chasez esque pop. This clip features a worryingly banshee like male backing singer, and Anders doesn't seem to have a clue where to look or what to do)
    8. Lasse Stefanz (ugh!)

I think what will happen is:

    DTG

    (1) Love Generation
    2 Melody Club

    3. Nicke Borg
    4. Linda Pritchard

    5. Lasse Stefanz
    6. Linda Bengtzing
    7. Anders Fernette
    8. Julie Alvgard

It annoys me incredibly that the Love Generation clip stops right before the the final 'alone'

Dance Alone is BY FAR my favourite in this heat and very possibly of the entire competition. Can't wait to hear the full studio version.

I have to say I think that Linda Bengtzing is going to be the one to miss out on Saturday. And if I had to choose, I'm actually quite glad, because I'm preferring Linda P and Love Generation at the moment

Back when it was announced Linda B was taking part I never in a million years thought I would be HOPING she didn't get through!! Although obviously in an ideal world all 3 would qualify in some way but that's not gonna happen.

Melody Club - I've genuinely already forgotten it. Dull MoR radio fodder which is likely to make a 'shock' exit.
Julia Alvgard - Oh, I quite like this Sadly isn't going to do a THING but is that really the point of the webjokers?
    Lasse Stefanz - Cunt off.
Linda Pritchard - It's good, but I have a feeling this is going to be the one that breaks Moopy hearts by coming 5th on Saturday.
Anders Fernette - I reckon this will be just about tolerable in studio version, but the performance is an absolute MESS.
Linda Bengtzing - Not as good as I'd hoped. Like a shit version of Varsta Schlagern.
Nicke Borg - Good for what it is, but GOD he looks . Watered down Don't Wanna Miss A Thing.
Love Generation - but it feels a bit subdued compared to the Amazon clip, though thankfully the vocals aren't as terrible as everyone expected. Doubtless I'll be spaffing myself silly over the studio version on Saturday.

Judging from those clips, it's Eric's to win overall, but Love Generation could shock if they bring the performance well enough. I hope we get a top five of LG/Julia/Linda/Linda/Nicke, and so long as it isn't LG I really can't bring myself to care who goes out fifth - shockingly weak heat!

I hope Bengtzing comes out TRIUMPHANT just to SPITE ALL THE DOUBTERS.

Having said that, the song's instant as FUCK but the performance clip worries me. Sitting down didn't exactly do the first half of her Jag Ljuger Sa Bra performance any good. La Engfors to the RESCUE to fix this PRONTO.

Also I'm very worried about Lasse Stefanz...I wouldn't even mind them getting through if the song was half decent (as is the case with anyone obviously) but it's just DULL!

She needs to get off her arse, figure out where the cameras are, banish SDF and bloke to the corner of the stage and get some dancers behind her for starters. The wanking dance can stay, at least it is a bit memorable.
