Some Athletics, Diving, Swimming and Tennis here.

These things are going to be SO oversubscribed aren't they.

    *expects to get no tickets*

But I'm sure loads of the more expensive tickets won't sell out from this original load of tickets - I know most people will have gone for £50 options surely? I find the pricing absolutely extortionate to be honest - I think it's fabulous that we've got this world event happening here in London, but the majority of Londoners will not be able to afford to go and see anything at those prices.

I was going to ask about the prices people have gone for? The cheapest options will be oversubscribed as hell, has anyone gone for the next level up?

On a couple of things I did. But frankly I couldn't really afford much higher priced tickets.

My choices were rather predictably informed by the probability of being confronted by semi-naked men and/or bulges...

    OPENING NIGHT CEREMONY
    DIVING
    GYMNASTICS
    SWIMMING
    TENNIS
    WRESTLING (GRECO-ROMAN)

In a couple of months, I'm going to be having a squizz on the kayaking course with my work colleagues. It's going to be a DISASTER.

I went for the opening and closing ceremonies, and some cycling one when they all race round the velodrome following some sort of ROBOT BIKE or something. It was the most mental one we could find, since they annoyingly don't seem to be doing the amazing WALL OF DEATH type thing that caught my imagination at the beijing games. It's the only one of the sports that didn't look totally tedious to me, and since we've got little chance of getting ceremony tickets i thought i'd better try for something else.

I quite wanted to see the volleyball too because it's done on Horseguard's Parade (and is the only event there), but it is SUCH a dirty mack sport to watch and i couldn't bear the shame.

Right, submitted. I've applied for both ceremonies, some athletics, swimming, diving, cycling, and gymnastics, but doubt I'll get more than one or two or the ten things I've applied for.

Yes. I presumed you meant that. I meant to ask which event. Men's/womens, individual/all round/team ?

    I think I went for men's all-round.

Girls Aloud are being lined up to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, reports suggest.

The 'Call The Shots' stars previously confirmed that they are to reform for a handful of one-off concerts in 2012 to mark their tenth anniversary as a band, but now Olympic organisers are said to be keen to sign the girls up for a performance at the Olympic Stadium in east London come July 2012.

"With the girls already planning to reform next year Olympic Officials are keen for them to open the games," a source told M Is For Music.

"They are the biggest British girl group in recent years and what better way for them to celebrate their tenth anniversary?"

Other acts rumoured to have been approached to perform at the opening ceremony include Muse, Coldplay and the Spice Girls.

I was thinking the same thing Madison, about the guessing game! I genuinely would love it if they took the full £660, but we'll see I guess. Of course, depending on the prices of everything, you might be able to work out exactly what you got and what you didn't.

Cards start to be charged from May 10th right? Confirmation of what you've got in June. Very odd way to do it.

Yes, it's all a COMPLETE con.

I've gone and got myself a WHOLE NEW CREDIT CARD for the occasion too as I didn't have a Visa before.

Oh and my bill is £2250 if I get everything I've asked for...do I win?

And I'm a bit concerned about this. (Not for you, because I know you can afford to pay it off eventually) - but in a world where we're being warned off buying on credit; in a country where we're still slowly struggling to come out of the worst recession in decades; and with tickets that can mount up to hundreds and hundreds (if not thousands) of pounds... isn't a bloody disgrace that we're given only one option to pay for these things - Visa? It's encouraging STUPID people to get themselves into more debt again, when the national debt per capita is already in the thousands! Not only that, but the implication is that (especially for STUPID people) they could order a bit more than they really want, with the expectation that they won't end up getting them all and won't end up having to pay as much as they think they will - but potentially they COULD.

It's a terrible system all in all.

I think they should have been a bit clearer that Visa Debit cards were allowed to be used.
