Dutch chartrun is 5-5-7-14![]()
Not a surprise since The Fame (Monster) failed to reach the top 3 over here.
What's confusing? We just find the heart of the prison and the dragon who speaks without walls, and we're home free. Simple.
Dutchies prefer Adele and Glennis Grace![]()
Don't forget Caught in the act and Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo![]()

To be honest, she got an "easy" time selling the first 3 million copies. It's still huge numbers in such a short space of time but she was always going to open with high sales.
Now the next 3 millions are gonna be another pair of shoes.
But I think the right singles ("Americano"+"Marry the night")+a big world tour might bring it there.
She's a QOP* after all.

@ladygaga
In just a few weeks Born This Way has sold almost 5 million copies worldwide. I ♥ you Monsters its just the beginning. Real work starts now.
Is this FOR REAL?
FEARLESS FEMALE
She's talking shipments, that's what the record company considers as "sales".
It means Interscope have already sent 5 million copies at stores all over the world, around 3 million from it have been sold to the public.
The next 2 million will probably take longer than one month.
Still:![]()
Another 68k sold in the US then, giving it a total of 1.45ish million sold to date

Let's face it, we were all expecting 20 million copies sold by now. FLOP.
Only 4 weeks at number one in Brazil and Belgium!!!?
Look at that run in Poland. She should just DIE THIS WAY right now.
Here I am love!
Here's a new update, although I lost track about a few countries (sorry!), let's say I'll only post the ones that really MATTER

Just under 4m? Where does that stand in terms of global album sales for the year?
Number 2 behind Adele who is already on her way to the 8 million mark![]()
Funny that Adele has sold 8m copies based on RECORDING the album, turning up to a video shoot, crying at the Brits and appearing on a few gay chatshows.
I wouldn't even know where to begin with what Lady Gaga has done to achieve those sales.
Although to be fair, popstars like Gaga who sell music mainly aimed at younger people (not taking the cross-generational gay fanbase into account) will always need more promotional effort than an artist like Adele who touches every generation. She can let the music speak for itself.
Gaga will probably end up selling around 6 million copies of BTW, which is nothing to be ashamed of and more than her direct competitors would dream of. But the real question is: where will she go from here?
Will she ever be able to outgrow her first wave of success and release albums that appeal to everybody like Madonna when she was good?? Or will she only sell her next records to her "monsters" and end up like Britney (=a 100% fanbase artist)??
PLACE YOUR BETS!

I'd say between 5 and 5.5 million is more realistic by year-end, depending on how much she profits from the X-mas sales surge.
With the tour kicking off at the beginning of next year and probably 2 further singles, I'd say she's in for 6 million before June 2012.
But maybe I'm a bit conservative in my estimates.
Officially certified Platinum in the UK. It should be eligible for 2xp (sales-wise) by around October, I think?
Still uncertified in the US, with about 1.7 million sold

How sad the Netherlands is the only country where it didn't get in the top 3.

can i just ask...i know that when you're out and drunk and stuff some of these songs are appealing in such a context, but do any of you actually soberly sit down and listen to this record?
I didn't think, I just posted
