    GusGus - Arabian Horse

New album time for this lot and my god is it FUCK OFF AMAZING.

Apparently the album was recorded in some remote cottage in the middle of an Icelandic lava field. It was released a few weeks ago but it totally bypassed me - FLOP FAN. I've been playing it endlessly since I got hold of it and if I'm not mistaken there is a defo 90s tech house vibe to it all.

Must check. Their last effort was a bit murky but Add This Song was great.

I need to dig out the vid Madison dug up of Daniel Agust singing in Eurovision!

    It's not pleasant to watch:

I'm going to pretend Mats is still a nice person and ignore the last post

ANYWAY I found the album online via LEGAL means and it's absolutely BEAUTIFUL. It's the album I always wanted Hercules & Love Affair to make and felt they were capable of, but have never really achieved IMO (sorry ameraal)

My current favourites are Over (one of my faves of the year already), Arabian Horse and Deep Inside. But I like it ALL.

    YAY.

the album made me go back and check out more Gusgus - this is FUCK OFF FANTASTIC

it seems the further back you go the more chillout/experimental it gets... does anyone have any other recommendations from their catalogue that are more in vain with "Moss", "Over" and "Arabian Horse"?

    DEEEEP INSIDE THE MILKY WAAAAYYY

I'm having a MOMENT to this tonight. I'm so used to cherry picking selected tracks I forgot just how good the complete entity was. Those icy synths are relentless

the whole album is amazing. Best dance album in many a year. I wish there was more of this out there, I'd so still be listening to dance music if there was.

I think this was my favourite album of last year, if not just behind Active Child. Their (proper) debut Polydistortion is an all time favourite as well. Very happy the latest material brought them out of obscurity a bit. They deserve so much more.
