When you retired from the admin team, I got the impression that you maybe felt you'd served your time, that was all.

I'm going lay down the rules before we get into the voting stage, just so it's crystal clear.

In some years we've been a bit flexible if someone was defeated by one or two votes. This will NOT be happening this time, the number of moderators is set and if you lose, you snooze.

There will, however, be a BY-ELECTION system available for mid-year candidates if one of the moderating team drops out/dies/gets sacked

I was planning to do this anyhow - but it's going to be of no use unless there's something genuinely RELEVANT to say. You could just end up with 7-8 variants on "works well as part of the team, pulls his/her weight", therefore I was more tempted to point out the people that really stood out.
