I really do hope Samuel is standing again.

Madison is far too OCD for the job from what I can see.

But that might be a good thing. I don't know the DETAIL.

Day 03 of the new regime and Star's dismembered head, symbollically placed on top of an errected iron pole guarding the Moopy Moop village, has now begun to rot under the relentless heat of the midday sun. Few escaped the initial violence, but those that did are thought to have fled to the safe dictatorship of the Popjustice forums.

Of the new ruling elite, funky and tetris-rock were executed almost immediately, on suspicion of potentially being too reasonable and level-headed. Their bodies were buried in The Garden of Sild, where all former statesmen are left to die. The survivors of the Heterocaust have found themselves doing audio labour in Donna Summer's Never Ending Unknown Disco Classics Penitentiary, in the hope that they will leave the correction facility more willing to embrace a Sister Sledge themed existence. A weeping cwej sits in the Ironic Punishment's Division, forced to spend an eternity trying to crack one of funky's codebreakers. In the cell next door, Emma is made to listen to looped excerpts about Ed and potential new floor tilings from her unsuccessful online blog.

    My manifesto then:

Well, I'd definitely like to put myself forward again. So why would you want to re-elect me?

I'm not going to put up some overly fancy campaign text or list a massive agenda for the next year but to put it simply I've bloody enjoyed being a mod over the past year. To be fair, I'm probably not the loudest member of the current mod gang but I've done my best to answer requests when I could, engage in and bring forward all sorts of discussions and generally help out as much as I was able to.

I'd quite like to continue doing so and rejoin the mod team for the next 12 months, especially now that we've finally parted ways with eukhost and can work on other things (frontpage - I'm looking at you) to make this place even better.

    Thanks a lot.

A word on the current moderator team: I think the mixture of people has been pretty great and it really was the combined effort that managed to solve problems such as hague gate and not an individual performance of a single person. Though if I had to pick out someone who in my eyes has done really good job especially over the last few months, it would have be Samuel.

    Hello all,

I am hoping to be re-elected this year and here's why:

I narrowly made it on to the team last year after a fight-to-the-death with fellow mod Slave. Thankfully, I was brought in too and here I am a year later with a wealth of Moopy experience under my belt and I'm hoping that along with the others, we've made Moopy a more enjoyable and exciting read over the past year.

I think if you were to ask people 'What, if any, actions do you think Samuel has taken during his current term as Moderator?' the general consensus would be, 'He helped get Moopy out of the sea of shit that eukhost sent our way' and if that was the case, I'd be really quite chuffed. I do believe I played an integral part in our server move and getting to the bottom of the problems we faced but that's not to say no one else helped because the one thing I think we'll all agree on is just how well we've ALL worked as a team this year. It's more a case of having the technical know-how to solve these problems and in the words of Frank 'N Furter: "I HAVE THAT KNOWLEDGE!"

Aside from the eukhost drama, I helped Star run ASFM3, I'm hoping to utilise the main page using plans that both I and the marvellous Apocalypt_flyer have drawn up in order to make it a pleasure to use for all and I've done my best to keep Moopy clean, streamline and spam-free.

I really love moderating Moopy, staying up until 3AM to discuss plesk and server issues with a non-existent sales bot called Norman really is my thing. That may sound incredibly sad but even I'm willing to admit I have no life outside of her indoors (He's got a girlfriend? He's lost my vote! - Moopy). I'm completely invested in Moopy and I'd love to come back for another term. The competitions tough, the other candidates are great and a pleasure to work with but if you'd like to, please vote for me this year. Thanking you.

I have supported Samuel since before he was a mod and judging by the last year, I can tell he's been an ASSET. Even as a non mod I can see that.

On a technical level he's top notch. Way above what is required of mods, and way beyond you could hope someone would do in terms of time spent and legwork. And he more than holds his own in terms of opinions/decision making etc.

He's my biggest no-brainer, and I'll be disappointed if moopy collectively doesn't vote him in by a considerable margin.

It's quite odd to think he only JUST made it last time really. And what we would have potentially lost had he just one vote less. I honestly can't even remember for sure if I voted for him or not last time, although I think I did.

    shocked

Well I thought I would turn up fashionably late and see what sort of interest there in from new blood.

Part of my reluctance to stand again stems from the fact that, as you know, I will be going off to Japan at the end of August. As such I have NO idea what sort of internet access or time I'm going to have. Obviously internet is a priority for me to keep in touch, and I'm sure my down-time in the flat will be spent much the same way as it is now. I just thought I should say all that in case you were worried about getting lumped with an absentee mod. If I was to be selected and it worked out that I couldn't help as much as I should, then I would do the RIGHT THING and step down. Madison is desperate to do a by-election anyway, so if anything he'll be happy.

A bit weird to open with why you shouldn't vote for me, isn't it?

Why you SHOULD vote for me... OK I've been worried that I haven't been doing enough this year, particularly through the various crises we've been through in the last year. I'm happy there are plenty of current mods with their heads screwed on, definitely some of the latest intake. Personally, as you probably know, I've had plenty of experience of modding as an admin at Chart Refugees for a number of years (and no, it wasn't me who ran it into the ground), and I've been doing bits and bobs around Moopy for ages, editing titles, splitting/merging topics, the bread and butter of moderation.

I suppose I've focused more on being a contributor of content on Moopy, the Number Ones rates, Family Fortunes, the Diddy Does stuff, dabbling in Moopyfestivalen this year. I love Moopy, and if I can have an outlet for my creative urges that people enjoy, then all the better.

So VOTE DIDDY, moderating today for a brighter tomorrow

I suppose I should maybe offer a bit more to my campaign, just to prove I am half serious.

Big Ron, where to start? I came here as a result of the moopy invasion of another board I frequented as an angry young man. However look back on my original posts and I am now a different person, I used to be full of arrogance, hatred and foul language. OK so maybe all I've lost is the hatred, but fuck me I am still handsome.

So what can I offer moopy aside from my pretty face? Well I don't really like much of the pop and shit that makes up a lot of the serious content and although I talk about food a lot in reality I am a geek. I've abandoned my short stint of being a chef because I tired of associating with idiots and I've returned to forging 0s and 1s. I could probably offer technical knowledge and help behind the scenes that will no doubt come in useful should I actual bother to do it, trouble is I'm not committing to anything, I've got a lot of drugs to get through before I have kids.

I can't promise I won't abuse my powers and I certainly am refusing to remain impartial. I may upset people from time to time, and I'll almost certainly be controversial, I might sometimes be rude and I might sometimes make someone cry, but just occasionally I might pull something out of the bag that dazzles you all, I persevere here despite having little in common with the general population becuase secretly I have a little spot in my heart. i'm happy in a place where I can share my digital ramblings with a community of people I don't know and in all fairness probably don't care. I like it here moopy, it may not be familiar, but it somehow feels safe.

So in summary, a vote for Big Ron would be a lot like voting Pete Doherty as UN ambassador for children. You know it will be reckless but fuck, it will be fun.

    Vote Big Ron x

I've decided I will go for it again.

To be completely honest, I don't feel like I've been a very active moderator the last twelve months. In particular, I did not assist with the server move as much as I could have and I'm ashamed of this. It wouldn't be a tragedy for Moopy if I wasn't re-elected.

That said, I think I am one of the top eight of the candidates and that Moopy would be better off for re-electing me. If I am re-elected, you will get an experienced Moderator with a proven record and one who is on these forums a lot of the time.

In respect of simple moderation tasks, I believe I do more than my fair share and am always happy to do so. I have always responded quickly to any PM requests for specific assistance.

You can rely on me to contribute to important moderator discussions. My views are often quite different to the majority of other moderators. I always try to be constructive. I'm never contrary for the sake of being contrary, I just often have different ways of viewing issues. I believe a mix of different views is a good thing.

Over the next twelve months, I'd like to get the moderation team focussed on promotion ideas to get a few more regular members - I'm genuinely concerned about the long term future of the forums if we don't get fresh and interesting posters. And with the increased server costs it's now more important than ever that we avoid decline.

I'd also like to do what I can to get more non-moderators starting more threads like 'A Song For Moopy' or 'Family Fortunes'. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but I think a lot of people enjoy them. I'm worried that posters (wrongly IMO) assume this is something moderators should be organising, or that the moderators will be offended, when instead it's up to all of us to be spontaneous and bold.

Re-elected or not, I think we should all be more bold and make more use of the "New Thread" button.

OK – Moopers: I’m putting myself up for re-election. Let’s GO!

You all know me and you know how I like to moderate: with maximum TRANSPARENCY. A vote for me is a vote for more of where that past twelve months came from.

In practical terms, I’m on most days, often in the evening, often at the weekends. I ban, reveal merge, split, delete, move, copy, edit and sticky with the sole aim of making this place a splendid place to be. Strong opinions and steadfast decisions included free of charge.

For me, the lines between posters, mods, admins, technical gurus and philosophical advisers should be blurred wherever they can. Less exclusive, more inclusive. Technical issues would be addressed ASAP as ever – but content and input comes from everyone.

Every decision should be put out there and opined on publically as far as possible. I’m not interested in a two tiered show - we’re not running a Secret Service here.

And with that - I THANK YOU
