Sorry but your food topics just get more and more PSYCHOLOGICALLY DISTURBED.

This has taken it several notches up in the GET HELP stakes...

    Bizarre

    A normal person must
    Dismiss you with disgust

Oh come on! It's an honest question. Some mothers are "feeders", and some aren't.

And to think that my next poll idea was, "Do you have fat phobia?" Maybe I'll let that one SLIDE.

Yes, but not necessarily just restricted to that form of behaviour.

Well that's another form of "feeding" isn't it.

One of my friends was telling me about how her ex-fiance was a feeder. He would come home with bags of Haribo and wouldn't let her go to bed unless she finished all of them whilst he watched. Bags of Haribo was his thing apparently. She went up to size 20 whilst she was engaged to him.

It's the fact you got to that train of thought and THEN chose it worthy to share on Moopy. I doubt anyone without food issues (and perhaps even mother issues - I don't know of your parents so cannot comment) would have made this topic.

And let's FACE IT, it's not like we haven't been here BEFORE.

Still it as they say, YOU have to want to help...

There is nothing wrong in having that train of thought. I honestly don't see what the big issue is. Plus, this sort of behaviour is very common in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean communities - the dominant monther that gets offended or insulted if children don't "eat up" because that is essentially her forte.

And yes, maybe do I have food or body image issues - but don't most people?

Well, a lot of it is actually me taking the piss out of myself.

Not that I need to prove anything to anyone here and not that anyone actually cares, but I have a normal BMI I have a healthy, balanced diet and get plenty of exercise.

To this day I still have to tell my mother to stop trying to feed me all the time when I visit. Within 10 minutes it's 'Do you want something to eat?'

Mine has gotten a bit better with that but her portion sizes are still insane. She literally HEAPS rice onto plates. She'd cook something like 1.5 cups of rice PER PERSON.

For the RECORD my mother did like me to finish my plate. I inevitably NEVER DID.

I make up for it THESE DAYS.

I can only really answer from that perspective. But then I had real ISSUES eating when I was younger and was on nutritional drinks from the age of about 7-10, I guess. She never forced me to clean my plate, just to eat more than I inevitably did.

I was a skinny bastard until my early/mid 20s. Then from around then until early thirties I liked my body, on the whole. Then early/mid thirties I turned to lard.

I was definitely brought up in a "clean your plate" household - I think that's why I eat so quickly now (and I really do inhale my food), because I had better things to do than sit at the table eating my dinner, but I had to finish my food and did so as quickly as possible.

I still think my Mum and my Nan have feeder tendencies nowdays though. If I turn up to dinner and eat something that I wouldn't normally, you can guarantee that the next time I go back, there'll be plenty of said food item in stock. Indeed, I think my Mum buys 3 packs of beetroot a week because a work colleague once gave me some to take home and try. I don't even like it THAT much

I am the SLOWEST EATER in the world. I have NO IDEA why. Literally no clue. I think there's an element of appreciation to it.

I really wish I could slow down. I've tried, I think at one point I got down to about 20 - 25 minutes for a plate of food, but generally it takes me no longer than 5-6 minutes to clear my plate.

    THIS.

When I'm hungry, I'm hungry and I want instant satisfaction. It's bad though as I don't notice I'm full etc.

I wouldn't say my mother was a feeder as such, we were made to finish our plates but it was more in regards to not wasting/ensuring all the vegetables etc got into us. She would always offer food nowadays to ensure we aren't hungry but it's never as if she is trying to constantly feed me.

My mum's side of the family are definitely feeders, they love to make you eat and they usually at least make six different types of food when they invite us. They like me much less because I refuse to eat, and snap at people when they try to put food on my plate.

My mum definitely has THE TENDENCY. It's quite a PLEASANT trait when you only have to deal with it every now and then.

I'm the FASTEST. It's like I think someone is going to STEAL MY MEAL midway through

actually I think it's because I can't stand cold food that's meant to be hot. But now I do it with stuff like salads as well. Meh.

I'd like to know WHO HAS been editing the tags. Loads of them were HARMLESS. I mean "what does your mum wear to bed?" is hardly going to shatter Moopy...

I admit my snipes that Suedehead is thinner now, than when he was a refugee and that he prefers Saddam to food were probably CROSSING THE BOUNDARIES of GOOD TASTE.
