Ha! Yes, I know what you mean. I'm actually the same - I just eat what I fancy and if I notice that's veering too much into unhealthy food than I tend to quite naturally want to eat a bit more healthily for a while.

I don't really give my diet a huge amount of thought most of the time, I'm just really interested in food and nutrition and science is teaching us new things about it all the time. I just find it all quite exciting.

    That sounds delicious.

I should really get back in the habit of eating porridge in the mornings, much better than my granola addiction. I stopped buying it as Tesco Express don't sell big enough bags for me.

I don't think you can get a more sustaining or healthy breakfast than porridge. Plus I make mine with just oats and water.

I have mine cold. But it's so much more filling hot, which is obviously better. I'm just a greedy bastard and love having a full bowl.

I was quite good yesterday until about 10pm

    Muesli with yoghurt
    A skimmed latte
    Beef salad
2 pieces of Ryvita with peanut butter
A protein shake after the gym
A grilled tortilla with chicken, beans, a little bit of cheese (and no sour cream - yay)
10 savoury biscuits with tomato salsa

Breakfast and lunch the same as yesterday:
    Porridge with agave nectar
Toasted wholemeal pitta with grated carrot, beetroot, humous and avocado

Dinner - girls' tapas night at a friends house. Well when i say tapas I mean, we're all taking "small eats". I've made sweet potato chips with a special secret recipe dip (mother in law's secret recipe) and a quinoa salad with broccoli, pomegranate seeds, blueberries, toasted pumpkin seeds, toasted pistachios and a lemon/dijon mustard dressing

I will in almost certainly drink too much wine as well.

I had frozen veg stir-fried this morning for breakfast, I added a chicken stock cube whilst cooking. It's all I had to eat at this point.

At uni I grabbed a greek yoghurt with rasberries, and it was lovely.

Then when I got home I went shopping, so for dinner had diced chicken, onion, mushrooms, CASHEW NUTS, and a tin of 3 bean varieties, all cooked in a giant mush with added cajun.

The plan was to head to the gym at 11pm, but I fell asleep and missed everything, including Big Brother on TV.

I know, my eating is incredibly repetitious at the minute. I ran out.

I fancy liver - I wonder if Iceland sell frozen liver.

Dinner: smoked mackerel, green beans, baby corns, red chilli, broccoli, mushrooms, pasta, with half a vegetable stock cube sprinkled over the veg as I cooked it. It was lovely, even if the fish didn't really go with the rest of the meal (I think smoked mackerel is best eaten in a sandwich with tomatoes and cucumber as it's quite a dominating taste).

    Covent garden wild mushroom soup
a handful of salted cashew nuts

Dinner is pork sweet chilli sausages with fried eggs

I need to lose my little belly, so am cutting out big carbs for the whole of Feb before reintroducing a small amount of wholegrain carbs after that, and starting to run regularly.

Smoked Mackerel is nice poached in a little milk, kept warm on the side, while you use the poaching milk to make scrambled eggs. Bit less slimy that smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.

Breakfast: porridge with some oatmeal and cashew nuts.

Dinner (which I still can't move after): chicken and green beans, with Cajun sprinkled on top, on 2 slices of granary bread.

I've grazed on cashew and pecan nuts throughout the day too.
