Should there be a 6th single off of Born This Way?

I bring this up because it appears Interscope has pulled the plug on "Marry the Night" and is no longer advertizing (or paying) for it to get added/played at American radio which probably means a 6th single announcement is imminent.

But could a 6th single and continuing trend of diminishing returns cause more damage than good?

As it stands, "Marry the Night" was her first single to miss the Hot 100 top ten (sneaking in a peak of #29), is her second consecutive single to miss the UK top ten and hasn't made the top ten in any major territory.

Part of me thinks it's best that she move on to work for the next album but seeing as it appears the tour IS happening it would seem odd to launch one without any current singles out there.

But then again, I don't see anymore HITS remaining. Perhaps "Scheiße" in Europe, and I wouldn't mind seeing the release of a well edited "Hair"

The tour can keep the album ticking over slightly but I think anyone who genuinely wants it will already have it (or will buy it just before/after seeing her), I don't think further singles will turn it around much.

Launch album #3 (or at least a buzz single) at the end of 2012 and give people a BREAK. Rihanna is able to pump out 50 singles in 3 years because she is a vehicle for it, it's relatively mindless, fun pop music. Gags is (well tries to be) more of an artist concerned with concepts, imagery and all that kind of stuff - which isn't as easy to swallow at such a constant rate - so piss off and come back in a year or two with something brilliant.
