I'm ON FIRE at the moment. Only giving myself one rest day a week and am starting to seriously notice differences in my body. My big fat waist is definitely shrinking, which is the major goal.

My legs are fucked though. Between all these weighted squats and lunges and running, they just never get a break.

I've started my half marathon training plan this week. It's all feeling a bit real now. I'm quite terrified that in two months I will be doing it.

Anyway, today has been Body Pump, 30 lengths in the pool and I'm going for a gentle 8k this afternoon.

I'm down a notch on my belt and I'm feeling much stronger and healthier.

So impressive. The amount you do, the weight must be falling off

Back to the gym after 10 days away. I'm still in the early days, but even after a break I did higher weights than last time...

The weight is coming off pretty slowly actually, but the fat is starting to come off quicker now! I'm pretty weedy, so I guess the muscle I'm putting on is making the weight loss seem a bit slower...

Second week of current bootcamp intensive and I need to knuckle down and eat better if I want to see any difference in my before/after measurements. Ate a load of crap this weekend despite doing the Spartan Run and am feeling chubby now.

Oh darl, you'll never be able to pull off batty riders. Not until they're part of the Topman collection, anyway.

I did a 7 mile run at a comfortable pace (9.30 minutes a mile) yesterday. I'm upping my distance by a mile every week for my weekend run and combining that long run with two short interval runs and a recovery one.

I'm in Stockholm next weekend, so I'm going to do a reccy of the start of the half marathon route and do my 8 mile run there.

Yesterday I did 20 machines of 30 reps each, only because it now takes me 30 minutes to do 10 and I feel like I should stay for at least an hour. Also, protein shakes are much less disgusting if you just add about 50ml of water and not much more. I need to do cardio today - it's just the whole getting wet thing that's inconvenient.

I'm going to start an ATTEMPT at losing some weight, I've gone a bit fat and i've always been very SLIGHT so it just doesn't sit well with me.

The only thing is I'm a very fussy eater, I don't like vegetables or fruit at all really and I love junk food. Is there anything I could do? I just hate healthy food!

Strawberries are the only fruit I'll eat and Peas are the only veg.

Slowly start incorporating them in your diet and you'll eventually get a taste for them. I'll happily eat ANY vegetable at this point and used to only like a few.

I quite like stir-frying veg and sprinkling vegetable stock or cajun seasoning, or brown sauce.

Yes, I think I'll start mixing them into some healthy stir fry's! First one being tonight.

I need routine for the next month anyway so I'm going to start my health kick today by going for a long run across the beach. Here's to betting I'll run for about 20 seconds and then slowly walk home.

I'd say if it's your first time doing cardio exercise in awhile start with either walking or intervals - like running for a couple minutes then walking for a few, then running again for a couple etc until you're winded.

"Ran" 3.2 miles today well managed 2 and a half before had to walk a bit but ran 3 of them. Definitely finding it a little easier each week just need to work on pacing myself as I tend to start a bit too fast and tire myself out. Maybe by 2013 i'll be able to manage Robotboy levels.

7 mile run at an even pace on Saturday, 4 miles interval training this evening.

Alex, have you got an app like MapMyRun or Nike+ Running? Being able to run distance is ALL about the pacing. I've been doing so much better since I borrowed my brother's Garmin GPS watch and can monitor my speed.

Oh no i've not got any apps...i've not joined the smart phone world.
I did time myself for the continuous run on my ipod though and averaged a mile in 8 minutes. I suppose I could use the lap thing on the stopwatch at particular landmarks though.

How long does it take to run 7 miles then? I only run 7km or so (basically 30 minutes running before the sweat forces me to stop).

8 minutes a mile is pretty fast. Everyone's different but my comfortable running pace, at which my breath is completely under control is 9 mins 30 a mile. That's probably slow to most runners, but I still class myself as a beginner. Try slowing down a bit and you'll easily be able to do the 3 miles without walking. I've got really strict with myself about walking in the last couple of weeks and just don't let myself do it.

SorB, the 7 mile run took me about 65 minutes. Most of it was on road, but some of it was on pretty uneven ground along the Thames, through fields. Would have been a bit faster if all on road.

Yesterday I did 50 lengths front-crawl in the pool, 15 minutes running and 10 weights machines (30 reps each).

Today I ran 30 minutes and did another 50 lengths front-crawl. I couldn't face the gym.

    30 min run
    10 min cycle
    20 mins arm machines
    10 mins crunches
    10 mins cross trainer

I never include my walk to work and back, and at lunch time either, but that is a solid hour walking every day too

I struggle with three miles of running at the moment. I just get BORED. I should really try jogging outside rather than on the treadmill I guess
