I'm IRRATIONALLY JEALOUS of you lot. I want to plan stuff.

I HAVE WAITED 12 YEARS FOR THIS!

I am excited that I am getting to make stuff! I've been looking at foam flowers for the bouquets, my friend had fake flowers and they were foam, I'd have never known! They look LOADS better than the silk ones.

I love the brooch ones. and button ones. I'm going to have a ribbon bouquet but I can't find a picture anywhere of the sort of thing I want. The nearest I've found to what i want is this:

I love them! I would have one of those if it wasn't for the fact I'm having a mid-summer English country garden wedding. It doesn't seem to really "go".

IN OTHER WEDDING NEWS: I have now stopped being a dick and have been busting my ass in the gym and booked myself in for 10 intensive personal training sessions.

Yeah I need to kick my ass back into gear! Dan and I are going to start hitting the gym pre-work to get it out of the way.

I'm just off out for session number three. It's really good for me as I now that once I'm back in the gym regularly, I won't eat a load of rubbish. It's easier to have restraint when you know you've busted your balls to burn some calories off.

I found my wedding photographer! His work was amazing, he is so creative with his pics and as he is just starting out over here he is SO cheap. Win all round!

We aren't having a professional photographer - we have a friend who's amazing at photos with a really good SLR camera who did a great job at another wedding. Saves us some money!

In the last two days I have signed off one marquee and the post-wedding tea party supplier.

We have a catering tasting sesh on Monday.

Tomorrow I am giving notice of intention to marry at the registry office.

IT'S ALL HAPPENING!

Been to see the registrar. My little notice is up on their board and we've booked our appt to make it all legal.

Yay! Ours got put up in the County office in Beverley so we didn't get to see it.

I think she thinks we're not really making it legal and just having this fake thing in the garden just to get out of actually marrying haha!

Sorted the catering for the wedding today and it's AMAAAAZING. I'm dead chuffed.

Also ordered the wedding bands. I'm having a 3.5mm plain platinum band with E&E 23.6.12 inscribed on the inside

It's been a good day on the wedding front.

Oh absolutely! We're totally doing our own thing - I wanted the entire day to represent everything that we are about.

Ugh, I hated working for a bank as I absolutely didn't believe in it or care a jot for the product. That's why it was so soul destroying.

Tell me about it! Still it got me where I am now, so no real complaints.

We've got a FABULOUS woman coming to do a tea party for us after the wedding ceremony. I hate all that champagne and canope nonsense (no offence to anyone else who might be doing that!) so we're having tea/coffee on vintage china and a selection of cocktail sandwiches, savoury bits and bobs and mini cakes on platters and then pimms & lemonade while the photos are being done.

I don't want people to be hungry and I also want to ration the booze in-take, not because we're being tight, but because people get too pissed and everything just falls apart.

I stayed too long really - I'm kind of typecast as FS now and am having to convince potential employers that I'm not really a corporate robot and that actually I just want to be creative and have a a chance to make my ideas come to life.

That's how it was for me. You just need to find the right company to let you do that. I was lucky in that the company I moved to was one I'd had a long relationship with as it was one of the VC investments I managed.

It was the reason I took redundancy - because I wanted the TIME to search for the right company or opportunity and not be rushed into something.

Basically I wanted to be able to wear gold sparkly high tops, sequins and red lipstick to work and people not look at me like I've just been beamed down.

Makes a change from the NORMAL wedding forum chat of "Oooh sugared almonds in taffeta bags? I'm having scratch cards as favours because I'm just SO DIFFERENT" and "ooh i cant decide which shade of MAUVE to have for the tie-backs on my chair covers..." etc.

Have I said what we're doing for favours? I can't remember. Anyway - we're having rosettes on the tables with people's names on them and then who they are in relation to us. Thought it would a nice ice breaker and they're also doubling up as name places for the tables.

Aww thats a cool idea. I really don't see the point of giving people something shit as a favour just for the sake of it.
We weren't even going to have anything but we are having bowls of Lego on the tables for people to play with, so we thought it would be nice if every one had their own Lego person. We got a job lot of little jewellery boxes at a boot sale for £6 to put them in.
