The 60s was easy growing up. My parents are of that generation anyway but at the time there was that big 60s revival. Roy Orbison, The Hollies, Gene Pitney were all back n the charts in the late 80s. There were so many TV ads and films using all that music that it just sort of seeped into my consciousness as a child. I think the lyrics were changed a fair bit, although I haven't heard the Lennox version for well over a decade. And I'm not sure if Lennox wrote the new lyrics either. Presumably she was happy enough with the changes (well, as 'happy' as Lennox has ever been, it's all relative) if she still did the backing vocals.

It's a "recreated photo" which is going for the shock value and absolutely sick. Imagine if that was someone you loved.
They've also collaged together all their front pages containing her (e.g. "INSIDE WHITNEY'S DRUG DEN" "WHITNEY DYING") and justified by saying they were trying to tell her she had a problem.

The Westboro Baptist Church has announced plans to protest Whitney Houston's funeral.
Margie Phelps, a spokesperson for the church, made the announcement on Twitter.
In the message, Phelps wrote: "Yay! 2 pickets in NJ-Whitney Houston funeral & [gay marriage bill legislature]." Phelps cites the reasoning behind the scheduled protest as being retribution for Houston "stealing God's glory".
The church has also made plans to release a single titled 'God Will Always Hate You, Whitney'.
This is not the first instance of The Westboro Baptist Church holding a public protest. In the past they have picketed Elizabeth Taylor's funeral, Kevin Smith's movie Red State, and the Golden Globes.
Whitney Houston died last week at the age of 48. A toxicology report is pending.
Her funeral is to be held today (February 18) at noon in New Jersey. Guests will include Kevin Costner, Clive Davis, Ray J and Alicia Keys. The proceedings will be broadcast on certain TV stations and streamed on the internet.

Whitney Houston's family wants Bobbi Kristina to enter a live-in rehab facility ASAP -- but sources tell TMZ, they're holding off on telling her until after Whitney's funeral today.
According to sources connected with the family, Bobbi has struggled with substance abuse issues for the last three or four years -- and the family wants her to seek out professional help at a 60-day live-in treatment facility before her problems get worse.
We're told the family is aware Whitney fell off the wagon in the weeks leading to her death -- and they don't want the same fate to befall her daughter.
But they're not putting pressure on her to enter rehab right away -- they want to give her time to grieve during and immediately after her mother's funeral today.
