Usher - Climax (his return to R&B)

I guess this is the first (of probably many) buzz singles from his upcoming album. It's more classic Usher than the dance-pop one of late. It's been getting a great response online and I quite like it, sounds like a grower.

I like that it just THROBS along, without a climax - it's a bit experimental.

I rather liked OMG and More from the last one but anything would be a better release than Dirty Dancer, that was shit.

I wouldn't strictly call that R&B. It's not bad though.

His best track in recent years is "There Goes My Baby" which spent about three months at #1 on the R&B charts in America. And that was R&B. It's amazing. His best ever song. Guess it remains to be seen if we get any more of that.

Oh has it been promoted from buzz single to official single?

Anyway really like this - never thought Usher we'd see another great Usher single. Is he still championing that RevPop bollocks?

New album is called Looking For Myself and is due June, is this his first time working with Max Martin? *cue Jonathan going into coma*

Usher will return with his much-anticipated seventh studio album, "Looking For Myself," on June 12, through RCA Records.

The follow-up to 2010's "Raymond v. Raymond" was previewed by the Diplo-produced slow jam "Climax," which hit the web on Valentine's Day. After the song's music video premiered on Vevo on Mar. 9, "Climax" climbed to No. 40 on this week's Hot 100.

"Looking For Myself" will include production from Rico Love, Jim Jonsin, Max Martin and Salaam Remi, among others. Over the past year, Usher teamed up with David Guetta for the single "Without You," which peaked at No. 4 on the Hot 100, as well as Romeo Santos for the Hot Latin Songs hit "Promise."

"Raymond v. Raymond," which featured the singles "OMG" and "Lil Freak," has sold 1.3 million copies since its March 2010 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. "Versus," a stopgap EP released as an addendum to "Raymond," was released in Aug. 2010.

He's gorgeous. This is really good, but doesn't really "reach the climax."

DJ Got Us Falling In Love Again was Dr. Luke or Max Martin? He's familiar in that territory regardless.

Salaam Remi and Rico Love *cums* I literally CANNOT WAIT, I hope it's a nice mix of old school r&b like Climax and upbeat songs but enough of the europop sound plz

Album has leaked apparently, not sure if I'll bother

The last album I listened to of his was Here I Stand and that was mediocre at best

Raymond vs Raymond was amazing POP! you don't know what you're missing! (Especially the expanded release with bonus tracks)
I read some reviews already from this and apparently it's more of the same so of course I'll bother

can't believe he actually got Empire Of The Sun to co-write/produce two tracks on the album and are also featured on vocals! No wonder it sounds amazing!

Just downloaded the album and Can't Stop Won't Stop and Euphoria are rather enjoyable (/commercial)

"Show Me" is a JOY after just a few listens, it reminds me as a bit of a throwback to "Caught Up" for some reason which is a throwback ITSELF. The happy synths in the latter half of the chorus are my favorite bit.

In other news, "Climax" has grown on me loads, not sure if I prefer that or "Scream" in terms of the singles. Both are greatly different, mind.

What's the sample used in Can't Stop Won't Stop? It's so frustrating.
What's confusing? We just find the heart of the prison and the dragon who speaks without walls, and we're home free. Simple.

Usher's stepson has reportedly been declared brain dead by doctors after a recent jet ski accident. Kyle Glover, 11, was reported to be in critical condition after a ski collision in a Georgia lake on Saturday (July 7). Glover and an unidentified 15-year-old girl were sitting in an inner tube being pulled by a boat, when they were hit by a jet ski being driven by a 38-year-old man.

Sources tell TMZ that Glover has showed no brain activity since he was rushed to Egelston Hospital in Atlanta. There has reportedly been no decision as yet on whether or not to remove the child from life support. Glover is the son of Usher's estranged wife Tameka Foster, with whom he has been in an ongoing court battle.

    New single Numb:

I think it's the Swedish House Mafia production that I like but it's definitely one of my favourite tracks off the album

It's not a bad pop song but this is becoming a VERY TIRED routine on his part. It's just "Without You" with different lyrics and that song was already generic.

I really wanted to like it ever since I listened to the album and found out it's by S.H.M. but it's not catchy AT ALL and it just DRAGS does it even have a chorus?
