Around the time of the second single, which was highly unusual for dance acts back then.

this is impressive, considering how rare and non-eventful dance albums were in the 90s, with a few exceptions. I bet I've missed a ton of great stuff along the way, because the only dance albums I ever bought were compilations and mixes and they only ever included singles.

That last bunch has some stuff on it I don't recognise. I'm definitely going to have to take some time to watch all of your clips - I bet there is some stuff on there I do know, but have completely forgotten about over 20 years

It's going to be a DISCO REMINISCO

    ello lover

Two favourites of mine in that last batch, LaTour and Tin Tin Out.

I'm sure there's a mastering error on the LaTour track, I had the CD single and it sort of jumps at one point, I'm sure it wasn't the CD.

uhhhh I loved Intermission feat LORI GLORI - Six Days back in '94, I was one of the few who bought the CD cos it peaked at #91.
I think Flip & Fill did a version more recently, no doubt it's awful.

I quite liked Took My Love by Bizarre Inc, although it was obviously not a patch on it's predecessor.

Desire by BBE is worse than Flash!

Do you mean Ruff DRIVERZ - La Musica? Cos I loved that with it's comedy vocal.

Oh gosh YES. I rushed this one, there are a few other errors too. I think Desire is marginally better than Flash, it does at least have a bit of fuel in its tank as far as instrumentals go (the video is very 6:58 do you know where my spark is, maybe).

I really love that riff in the 2 Unlimited song, but what a pointless line-up change, and Capella were obviously well on the way out by this point too. Like I've said, it's not really in an order yet, there are no real classics but Fargetta and Bizarre Inc stand out for me the most here, and the C & C videos continue to look incredibly stylish with amazing black women to stare at in them.

I love Desire. Flash is a 10/10 max track for me too.

Isn't the original version of Six Days a happy hardcore track by Cru-L-T?

I don't know ANYTHING about happy hardcore other than it gave Karen Parry the time of her life scoring hits as huge as her forehead with her commercial trance updates.

Sorb. You know I love you, but HOW can you place The Magic Friend and ESPECIALLY Perfect Motion so low? The latter in particular is SUCH a classic tune.

Donna Giles is fabulous - the video was one of my first gay experiences, staying up all night to watch BPM on ITV in 1994.

TSD is UTTER shit - H&S is a million times better than Baby I Love You though.

Clock's In The House is one of the worst songs I've heard in my life.

TSD were neither ropey or skanky enough to be as legendary as Those 2 Girls and similar acts, so really are just a footnote of the genre really.

Perfect Motion isn't a stone cold classic for me, she's a bit dowdy and there's not enough glamour. It's all in the finishing touches for me, but I'm still adamant that every song on this list is great.

I rather like the Clock song, it's got a cheap and cheerful insistence. 2 Unlimited's The Magic Friend just doesn't have enough of Anita on it for me, but look at the song it's above, so again if I didn't like it, it wouldn't be here (although I can confirm that all of 2 Unlimited's singles are on this list).

    Some fine tunes falling here.

Magic Carpet Ride is such a summer tune. It was all about the club edit which was track 4 on the single IIRC.

I don't know that version of Let The Beat Hit 'em, just the one credited to Shena alone which was top 30 in '97, and of course the amazing Happiness by Sound De-zign.

Outhere Brothers - Don't Stop was alright but never an especial fave. It always annoyed me that there wasn't a version of the 7" Mix (which was by far the best version) with the dirty lyrics in. All the explicit versions on the CD single were SHIT.

Sasha & Maria - Be As One has always been considered a classic but it's never done a thing for me. The next chart hit she had is one of my favourite songs ever mind.

I'm agog Crescendo isn't higher up (Agnetha will be too). I think it's an astonishing piece. The full 20 minute long Orchestral Variations version the CD single listened to LOUD on headphones is a transcendental experience.

Judy Cheeks - Respect is probably in about the right position. Very average mid 90s piano house. Reach is her only classic.

I adore the Todd Terry record, probably my favourite of his.

I was obsessed with Magic Affair in 1994 and Omen III was my best song of all time for a brief period. I used to listen to a copy of it I made by placing the microphone on my tape recorder next to the speaker on the TV when it was on MTV Europe. Oh to have had the internet back then In The Middle of the Night was OK, but it was diminishing returns by the third single. Another one that annoyed me by not having a radio edit on the cd single.

Oh I'm completely with you on that OTHER one by Maria That One. I remember her flogging her solo follow-up to Josie D'arby on channel 5 back in the day, but I'll be reviewing the songs by the time I get to her biggest hit and go into more detail I'm sure. Crescendo just isn't a major song for me (and like I said before, this is only in a loose order right now so there will be many high profile songs dropping before I get to the main juice of this count down). Judy Cheeks has a decent pressence on my countdown, I hold her in the same breath as Juliet Roberts, but she was much prettier and it's a shame she didn't have more success.

Just seen the last lot... CRESCENDO?? Are you OFF YOUR ROCKER? "Are You Out There" would almost definitley be in my Top 50...

Sasha & Maria is a surprise as WELL... Always loved that one. Had no idea anyone considered it a classic.

Pleased with the amount of Capella. With retrospect one of my favourite europop acts of the era...

And as for the PREVIOUS LIST... Donna Giles is an absolute WAILING POPPERS O'CLOCK HANDS UP IN THE AIR ANTHEM.

My other personal travesty is Pulse. Lover That You Are was a MAINSTAY in my CD single collection...

Nothing ESPECIALLY standing out there... I love Inner Circle but I wouldn't have included it in a dance countdown. I think Everybody is one of the best Clock records. Hysteric Ego was a decent memorable dance tune.

Sister Bliss were always second to Candy Girls in the camp anthems stakes for me, tho 15 year old me did have a bit of a moment walking into HMV in the summer of '95 and hearing Oh! What A World blasting.

I'm still not on the original line-up of Capella, which I think shows that they held up pretty well quality-wise, whereas Clock just completely lost it with the naff covers.

Oh What A Night, apart from the rap, is much better than it should be - I only say that because it reeks of them simply thinking up songs to score easy hits and clog up Now CD2s with.

Oh What A Night was fine for what it was. But that and Do Ya Think I'm Sexy etc are both horrible throwbacks.

Hard to believe N-Trance dared to cover Stayin' Alive.

I know, but I need these songs to provoke a bit of reaction. The Candy Girls song I wanted something amazing to kick it off with, especially with the visuals. The top half of this list WILL be in a much more truthful order.
