I have NO DOUBT this subject CLOSE TO MY HEART (JX version) will provoke far more disagreement and equally bonding between us.
I have HIGH HOPES for Grace, Jam & Spoon, Strike, Robin S, Livin' Joy, Baby D, Capella, De'Lacy, Arrolla, Liquid, BBE, Culture Beat, Tina Moore, Nightcrawlers, Magic Affair, Rozalla, Real McCoy, Vengaboys, Moby, Gala, Chicane, Corona, Mary Kiani, Sash!, N-Trance, Oceanic, Faithless, JX, Felix, Ultra Nate, Amber, Snap...
Amongst others. Of which there are MANY.
omgies shampoo are totes cool when i was 17 back in 94 i totally wanted to be them even tho i was boy. but now i'm a girl so it all worked out alright really!
Faithless are WHOLLY representative and overplayed, but they have three or four utterly essential singles. At the time their sound was making reasonably fresh use of a well used synthesizer... I guess the male vocal is enough to put the GAYS OFF.
Too bad I'm not 16 anymore and looking for someone to fuck me to Livin' Joy's Where Can I Find Love. It was just all the worthy spoken-word bother (it seemed rather formulaic) and I never really liked seeing that guy and Sister Bliss on MTV talking about themselves, they seemed so dull (notice how I didn't feature her in the video montage).

WAIT, the Rollo's big remix of Dreamer is an avalanche of rapture, I'll give him THAT.

Where Can I Find Love is better than MOST ARTISTS MILLION SELLER.
FACT.
I never liked the Maxi Jazz bits really - but you can't deny those synth bits.

Without Faithless there'd be NO SASH.
Make of THAT what you WILL.
Indeed. A story thats been told before, but on my one an only moopmeet a couple of years ago, myself, my non mooper friend, eileen and jivafox were at G-A-Y and Where Can I Find Love Came on. Not Dreamer. Not Don't Stop Movin'. Not even Follow The Rules, but WHERE CAN I FIND LOVE. Three of us went wild. Jivafox didn't.

Tameka Starr has far to many aliases, but her vocal on that one makes me want to lie down afterwards, it's incredible. I'm sure I've read some moopy members reminisce about moopy-meet where they all "lost their shit" to it in the club. I have a REAL TREAT for when Livin' Joy feature - it's just a question of using it at the start of for their last entry. Both singers, very different, but it's like an earthquake when they go off during their choruses.

I would have gone APE SHIT MENTAL and probably topped and bottomed for you all at the same time.
And then EXPLODED.

Love the Jinny FOLLOW UP.
is that really "save me" by Activate in your countdown? I remember it much differently
.
Wanna Be With You isbut even at the time it was horrendously dated!

The Boys Own Remix of Sunscreem's "perfect motion" would probably be in my Top 10 - much better
.
The Sphinx - What Hope Have I - I loooved this back in '95 after buying the single on a whim cos I liked the look of the cover and I knew from RM that it'd been a big club hit. It's a Rollo production, he was as ubiquitous then as Calvin Harris or Guetta are now.
Captain Hollywood Project - impossible - this came pretty hot on the heals of ALL TIME CLASSIC More & More in early '94 (in fact he knocked his previous hit off number one in my personal chart with this fact fans) It was a pretty pale imitation of it though wasn't it? I recall getting thrown out of an English lesson in year 9 for playing this on my fancy walkman that had a speaker on it
Powerhouse - What You Need - what an amazing tuneI still hear this out occasionally and it got regular play on Galaxy (until they got taken over by shitty Capital).
The Beloved - You Got Me Thinking. I love this song but I'd love to see anyone try to dance to it, unless it was in the smoochy section at the end of the night. I remember my gran opining that the vocalist sounded "bent" when it came on the radio once on a car journey back then.
Jinny - Wanna Be With You. I liked this (and bought it of course) but it was a bit of a shame it was a very generic eurodance record after the fantastic Keep Warm which I presume is much higher up yet.

It's not a patch on More & More, which is safely rammed up much higher so far (I've still to carefully look at the songs I've put in rough order).
I think he sounds a bit bent too. That must have been quite an interesting car journey. I'm sure he's straight anyway, but that's just what happens when you can't sing for toffee.
What You Need is one of those songs I can get into once in a while, but it's not something I'd crave to hear on a dancefloor (this is coming from the guy who still requests Gina G and Dannii Minogue of course).

Krust, I had issues downloading youtube clips, and I had to leave one out completely.

I never quite discovered Captain Hollywood Project. I feel like it would be like watching The Goonies now... Pointless as they're very much of their time.

Maybe it's a Degrees of Motion affair where their best song was written by other people, hence why nothing quite matches up. More & More was on one of the Now albums, I don't think I ever heard it on the radio.

You know I was thinking of Maxx the whole time I wrote that post.
No More NEVER hit the GLORIOUS heights that Getaway did. I still play both(!), but Getaway FAR MORE. Amazing despite the double rap verse.

Lots I don't know here, some fine examples of 90s house though with Nush, Bobby D'ambrosia, Up Yer Ronson and Jamiroquai being the only 4 I bought, the latter only for the Space Cowboy remix.

That Veronica one sounds like the Thunderpuss Remix of It's Not Right But It's OK!
Just been catching up on the other volumes, there's a few I'd like to hear more of...how on EARTH do you know all of these?
Blizzard - Without You
Joy Salinas - People Talk
Nina - Until All Your Dreams Come True
La Cream - You
Rochelle - Praying For An Angel
La Cream - Say Goodbye
Rochelle sounds like Exposé, I LOVE freestyle, it was only really popular in the US. The Blizzard track is VERY like Maxx but the vocals are fabulous...
The La Cream and Joy Salinas ones are on Spotify but not the others...
Any chance you could put them in Kelly Llorenna's sunbed?
NUSH <3
Top up, Sue?
The next volume is the best one yet, there's a serious spike in quality of songs that would sound great to have your drinks spiked to in a club. I can't be bothered doing the 'artwork' THING tonight, but it's uploading slowly onto youtube. We're seeing some high profile sacrifices. Some of the songs are obvious, but maybe people can just guess them until I have the NRG to do my grafix, for consistency if nothing else.

How many can you guess? Some even tell you in the lyrics and everything.

I spotted Workaholic just from hovering over the time bar and seeing the distorted still of the bloke at the desk.

Dannii is one lucky bitch to have been sexed by Ray in his prime. I wouldn't look at him twice nowadays (okay I would), but there was something about him. I'm so glad they have their name back.
