So the last of the only two Danja productions from Circus is now out, it's much truer to the darker, more urban sounds to this album's predecessor than the other song Danja had a hand in ("Blur"). A lot goes on in "Kill the Lights" and the feisty, punchy production but I guess the sum of its parts are good but not spectacular IMO.

These songs aren't anything to get excited about in the context of a final. That's an interesting way of describing Kill The Lights, it's kind of true and I guess the album for me IS the sum of its parts.
Reflected onto the wet pavement, can you see what I see?
Shattered Glass is the best thing there!
It's like you're screaming . . . and no one can hear;
you almost feel ashamed . . . that someone could be that important
I find the three singles one of the best pop TRIO ever unleashed on the charts. The charts obviously disagreed though.
There was probably a time immediately after the three singles that I probably agreed with the sentiment that the first three singles from the album were GREAT. But whilst 'Womanizer' was good in every respect, 'Circus' I adore as a song but I'm not really sure it was the best single - I get the whole circus metaphor and it didn't exactly BOMB in the charts, but it never seemed to have much impact in other areas - I rarely saw the video and I don't think I've ever heard it played in a club. As for 'If U Seek Amy', I truly think it's one of her worst singles, save for 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll' and 'From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart'.
"Circus" was a big hit here in the States and it was timed perfectly with the album release that it all seemed like one big EVENT and cemented her commercial return to form (let's not forget it was her first second top ten hit off of a single album since ...Baby One More Time). But after that Christmas and when the album sales dried up, diminishing returns was in full effect and "If U Seek Amy" wasn't as BIG as it should've/could've been albeit it was still a top ten pop hit.
