Er that was the point of bringing her into the discussion, the Madonna/Cyndi trajectory might model how Gaga's career will pan out either way.
And like RB said, she released a very solid pop-dance album that got great reviews less than 5 years ago... not to mention her wealth of work in the 90s.
The Femme Fatale era generated a $70 million tour, a #1 smash, 3 top 10 hits, and made Britney the highest paid female musician of 2012, $58 million - higher than Bey, Gags, Rih, Katy, Adele, etc.
