SHIT someone add in a poll PLEASE
Three years on I want to know if Moopy is still as vocal in its hatred for this INSANELY BRILLIANT POP SONG as it inexplicably was back then.
For my money better than anything Britney has released in at least five years. I find it quite hilarious that she hated being a popstar because she was REALLY GOOD AT IT.
kyoko, it's me
I don't recall it being that hated?
It's alright, nothing special. 6/10
POLL FAIL on my end, sorry(I forgot to make it multiple choice, oh well).
Anyway, I've never been massively keen on it, for my money the more electro-poppy sound of Can't Be Tamed is much better than most of what came before, apart from Fly On The Wall which remains brilliant.
'Sue, did the President call?' ... 'No' Last.fm
I remember the same criticism for Blame It On The Weatherman.
Best thing Jessie J has ever done by a massive long shot.
Why is it being compared to Womanizer?
LOOKS GREAT IN SIGN LANGUAGE TOO:
I prefer The Climb, definitely.
See You Again is her best from the little I've heard of her ouevre.
Miley top 10:
1. Permanent December
2. Take Me Along
3. See You Again
4. Liberty Walk
5. The Climb
6. Stay
7. When I Look at You
8. Two More Lonely People
9. Can't Be Tamed
10. Party in the USA
Hannah Montana warrants a completely separate top ten but that's for another thread. Where's SLAVE?

The Climb is great, in the hands of a better vocalist it could have been even better, but at the same time I think Miley's slightly odd voice gives it a little bit of extra charm.
'Sue, did the President call?' ... 'No' Last.fm
You know what POP, I'm going to join you in a top 10:
01 Liberty Walk
02 Fly On The Wall
03 The Climb
04 Permanent December
05 Robots
06 Who Owns My Heart
07 Take Me Along
08 Two More Lonely People
09 Stay
10 Can't Be Tamed
'Sue, did the President call?' ... 'No' Last.fm
01 Party In The USA
02 Liberty Walk
03 See You Again

kyoko, it's me
It's such a shame that the last album underperformed so spectacularly despite the title track being a semi-hit, it's so chock full of tunes. She's actually in the studio right now making another album that's supposed to "sound[s] like Katy Perry and Rihanna". It obviously won't do a THING but as long as it sees the light of day I guess.
Her new film LOL comes out Friday here in the States, it will probably BOMB
I love how goddamn DRUNK she sounds throughout the Can't Be Tamed record. Slurs ahoy!
kyoko, it's me
11/10
The fact JESSIE FUCKING J wrote it hasn't tainted it for me AT ALL. Funny how she tried to recreate it with Price Tag and FAILED SO HARD (darling)
cat, hat; in French, chat, chapeau in Spanish, el gato in a sombrero.
I was sadly too caught up at work to be here as the discussion was happening, but my Miley rate would BE:
1. Wake Up America
2. The Climb
3. Breakout
4. Party In The USA
5. Permanent December
6. See You Again
7. Hoedown Throwdown
8. 7 Things
9. East Northumberland High
10. Two More Lonely People
Also, Hannah Montana top 10 (just BECAUSE):
1. I Got Nerve
2. Best Of Both Worlds (2009 Movie Mix)
3. Who Said
4. Life's What You Make It
5. You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home
6. Rock Star
7. One In A Million (Chris Cox Remix)
8. He Could Be The One
9. Barefoot Cinderella
10. This Is The Life
On the whole I'm much fonder of the Hannah Montana stuff![]()
I knew you wouldn't DISAPPOINT
I ought to re-investigate the Hannah Montana stuff, it's probably the moment Hollywood Records started to embrace the pop/dance sound more than the 'pop dressed up as pop-rock' schtick they were pushing for most of the 2000s.
One of these days we are going to do a Hollywood Records Rate - Hilary, Miley/Hannah, Jonas Brothers, Vanessa H., Selena etc. Demi must come in last.
The first Hannah Montana album is just very commercial pop-rock, as indeed is a lot of the second album. But there is some dancier stuff on there, amongst some real CRAP
Poor Demi, I can't totally hate her because she did provide one of my favourite songs EVER (albeit via Camp Rock)
This is REAL
This is ME
I'm exactly where I'm supposed to BE now
Gonna let the LIGHT
Shine on MEEEEYEEEEEEEYEEEEEYEEEEAH
*dies*

I remember having a real soft spot for "Pumpin' Up the Party"

I was just giving a quick (and it really is BRIEF given their lack of STARS) read of Hollywood Records' Wiki page and I did not know that they own the catalogue rights to Queen's albums.
No WONDER they can afford to fritter away so much money on crappy two-bit pop acts who don't come near the charts
I love how incompetent they are in terms of actually promoting their artists. *x artist (Selena, Miley, Demi etc) has genuine crossover pop hit - HR decides to a) take about eight months deciding what to send out next b)send said artist back into studio to come out with a new album in a month's time* They really are utterly USELESS
I know I'm already going to be SPLIT in terms of what I give my 11 to - "A Year Without Rain" or Jesse M's "How Do You Sleep?"![]()
I guess what they really need is some acts who haven't come from the Disney umbrella (but they can't really afford to cut their ties there) because as much as they ARE appalling at handling the promotion of pretty much any act, they must tear their hair out when someone like Selena Gomez or Hilary Duff scores a massive hit or two and then decides to go and shoot some movies that no-one will be interested in.
Slave I'm disappointed at the lack of Nobody's Perfect in your Miley TOP 10
cat, hat; in French, chat, chapeau in Spanish, el gato in a sombrero.
I didn't really like it so much as 'Life's What You Make It' which was the HIGHLIGHT of the second album.
Catchy but a bit crap
Womanizer is in a different league
OK, so just youtubed this... a friend of mine oddly wanted to play this at a party on her iPod, since I brought speakers. She is a teacher and has a young daughter so I guess that's why.
I barely know ANY Miley - isn't The Climb her classic?! I know Demi Lovato's Skyscraper though.
This is pretty damn decent, though as if bitch listens to Jay-Z! And I'd never have pegged this as a Dr. Luke song.. the hedonistic party atmosphere is there, but it seems different. Suppose it depends on what writers he's working with.
Also the new teeth were a good move, she looks like hot in this.![]()

Has she fallen PREGNANT? What's the rush in getting engaged at 19?
Nineteen-year-old Miley Cyrus is engaged to "Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth, following a three-year relationship that started when the pair costarred in 2009's "The Last Song."
"I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam," Cyrus told People after the 22-year-old actor proposed on May 31 with a 3.5-carat diamond ring.
Beyond the interview with People, neither star has announced the engagement publicly, although Cyrus tweeted "Heaven is a place on earth" the day after the engagement, and wrote "Life is beautiful" on Wednesday (June 6) after the article was published.
In his March cover story for Details, Hemsworth told the magazine about falling in love with his fiancée on the set of Nicholas Sparks' "Last Song," when she was 16 and he was 19. "She makes me really happy," he said. "When you start, you want to be professional, but when you're filming those scenes with someone and pretending to love them, you're not human if you don't feel something."
Up next for the Australian actor is "Paranoia," a film with Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman, and "Catching Fire," the second installment in the record-breaking "Hunger Games" series. Meanwhile, Cyrus is working on new music for a possible fourth studio album.
She got the hotter Hemsworth brother - or prettier rather. Those two are like in every film ever. Still, underwear model Justin Gaston was her hottest piece.
