BUZZLESS RELEASE!
How has this happened? There was no buzz before it's release. Most odd!![]()
BUZZLESS RELEASE!
Diddy does ... An amazing blog, Eurovision 2012, Kate Bush, ABBA, Bjork, Mariah, Kylie, Alanis, Tori, Madonna, ESC 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, Banshee Xmas, Best of 09, 10, 11
There has been NO hype. Up until a few days ago fans weren't even sure if there was a new song coming out and even after that it was all based on speculation.
Hopefully this will be played in all the CLUBZ this weekend
The Voice on Sunday, and then the Jubilee concert the week after - hopefully it can stick around and not be too front loaded
She has been all over every online news outlet all day so I am not surprised it has climbed so quickly. The test will be longevity but with the performances coming up and the video being on rotation on TV it looks hopeful. The impossible might even happen next week and Radio 1 playlist it.
Won't somebody out there hear my SOS...
She has that possible Cannes winning film (which I'm deeply curious about now, I have to say), to keep her in the spotlight as well. It almost feels intentional for maximal sudden re-exposure. The total opposite of her previous releases.
This is getting great buzz all over, my Twitter feed is filled with Time Bomb and it's not just the gays.
I hope you all realise this could well forever be "US iTunes video #1".
Up to 53 on US itunes - anyone know where All The Lovers peaked?
kyoko, it's me
Surely this is gonna peak at about #37 this week then drop like a stone next week, exactly like GAYL by old Madge?
omgies shampoo are totes cool when i was 17 back in 94 i totally wanted to be them even tho i was boy. but now i'm a girl so it all worked out alright really!
I think the Cannes press has helped enormously, particularly in some parts of mainland Europe. Like Agnetha, I believe it was all timed meticulously for maximum impact.

is there a proper album coming out of this or just that GH?

I do have one peeve about the video though. We all know it was shot on a dreary rainy day and my guess is that the reason much of it is in black and white is to disguise that fact and for the most part it works - it really has the effect of appearing to be a bright and sunny - until you notice that bloke with the huge brolly standing in the background of the alley scene.

Not that I know. I just think they've finally learned (shock horror) from the error of their ways.

Do we know if she's even in the process of recording/preparing a new album? Because if this actually ends up being a nice little Summer hit, it would be the start of a nice build of momentum for a proper lead single in September and then an album in October or November.
Yes but then she also promoted the hell out of "All I See" in the States and I'm not sure it troubled the iTunes chart AT ALL.
But it was a hit on the Billboard Dance/Club Chart![]()

Recording has started but she has reiterated that there won't be a new album until 2013 at the earliest.
My guesses as to what is coming up this year:
Single (confirmed)
Jubilee concert (confirmed)
Proms In The Park (confirmed)
Abbey Road album (late Summer)
B-Sides collection
Collaboration with at least 1 DJ/Scandinavian House act
Musical (Autumn)
Royal Albert Hall gig (which Steve Anderson has hinted at a few times - at the end of the year)
Radio 2 seem to be keen. Not that means ANYTHING in terms of single success.
I have to give her and the label credit here, they're orchestrating this all very craftily. Even I was at an all-time low of Kylie interest in the beginning of the year but I love how much she embraces her own musical past and history that you would never see in most artists who have been around as long as she has (ie. MADONNA). I do think by the end of this, when we do get the next proper album, it will feel all the more special and heartfelt because of this. With the Anti-Tour, all these 'gifts', this spontaneous single release, she feels closer to us fans than ever.

It has been an absolute MASTERSTROKE in terms of reconnecting an act with her fans. I'm assuming in no small part because they realise that realistically she is unlikely to ever sell massively outside of them again, at her age and at this stage of her career.
Another single as a feature with somebody like Swedish House Mafia this year would do even more to help her re-appeal to the youth.
Won't somebody out there hear my SOS...
Speaking from my own point of view, I can tell you that I absolutely love her again. Whether attending the Anti-Tour has clouded my judgement towards her and "Time Bomb" as a result, I don't know but I'm certainly less inclined to be too critical now.
