The Fades was really good, they really should have kept it given some of the shit they see fit to continue airing.

I was quite relieved to not see Anthony Cotton MUGGING AWAY on stage like he usually does when Corrie wins something.

They've missed a trick not having Zara Brownless (complete with THE DRESS) up there on stage

EDIT - Oh wait, is THAT her wearing a horrible black trouser suit? HORRID

Oh oh i watched it too Cob. I thought it was a ropey ceremony (nasty venue, rubbish presenters, and OH MY DAYS at the state of the scripted 'banter') BUT YAYAYAYAYAY for Andrew Scott. So deserved. He is fucking awesome at everything, him getting that was like the theatre geek's equivalent of Loreen winning eurovision. I also liked the wins for This Is England 88, Random, Jennifer Saunders, and the wholesome middle class joy that was The Great British Bakeoff. I thought the rest of the noms/wins did a terrible job of showcasing british drama in 2011/12 though. I mean no overall love for Sherlock, Downton, Birdsong, The Night Watch, Call the Midwife, the resurgent Being Human, Great Expectations, Luther, or Who? Jog on BAFTA. And the absolute STATE of that category for best series (The Fades? Scott and Bailey? WHY NOT STICK IN WATERLOO ROAD AND WILD AT HEART WHILST YOU'RE AT IT, YOU CONTRARY QUALITY DODGERS)

I'm not really sure Dominic West should get awards either, unless it's for smarmiest human or most ill judged quip about a gaping hole at an awards ceremony (lolz). I'm definitely going to give Appropriate Adult a go though. Even if he doesn't win me over, i love the story about Rose West spitting daggers because she didn't think Monica Dolan was hot enough to play her
