Morning all! Got my first tutorial today for my next set of exams and am already feeling quite under prepared. However on the plus side my friend is visiting later so hopefully will be hitting up a few bars in London later

Fuck me it's GRIM out there. My umbrella blew inside out yesterday and I had to bin it. Not that there would be any chance of keeping it up ( ) today either.

I'm just going to put my waterproofs on, hope for the best and head on out.

I have one of those old lady umbrellas that's clear plastic, but multi coloured, and pretty much comes down to my waist. I'm yet to find a strong enough wind to blow it inside out but today may be the day

No idea. Could be water table coming through foundations, could be something else.

Oh I though it happened because of this rain! In which case, we have exactly the same thing at my parents house! Only it was about 3ft. We never found a reason for it despite extensive investigation!

Well it is because of the rain, just the rain going into the ground and coming up again.

Did it cause any problems at your parents? THREE FOOT HIGH?

The gap under the living room floor must be about 4 foot. One day after buying the house we lifted the floorboards for some reason and where shocked obviously! We hired out an industrial pump to drain, but it would just refil again. We called the council and they tested all the drains by putting dye down them to see if it ended up in our basement, but nothing. We drained another 2 odd times and once we had our extension done it didn't seem to refil as much, so we've left it. I don't think we've checked it in a couple of years now!

No nothing! Perhaps because there was a foot odd gap between the water and flooring? But it's been years now and no problems.

I'd avoid mentioning that if they ever try to sell the house.

I'm translating a 13th century monk's scribblings. he basically says that you just get uglier as you get older and should hurry up and die before 40. a life beyond that is full of embarrassment

    sorry, lolly and floppet

That's impressive - I'm translating random phrases I pull out my arse for my work colleague, and I also just did 'How I Roll'.

    It's a quiet day today.
