I'm struggling to think what to buy my two nieces for their 18th birthdays. One is next week, the other in July.

One is super chavvy and the other one not. But I have to spend a similar amount on both. I'd like it to be something they can keep, so I'm guessing jewellery of some sort.

I'm guessing one of them wants one of those bracelets she's tagged you in on FB.

No prizes for guessing that's the chavvy one!

Quite VILE, isn't it? But it's what she wants. I've already told her I'm willing to spend a bit more on her than that, in the hope that she might choose something a bit more CLASSIC, but she's not biting.

I'm getting steadily more pissed off with Mr F as the evening's going on. He ate his tea, that I spent an hour preparing, and then fell asleep on his chair. But every time I try to get the remote to switch channels he opens his eyes and moves it. I wouldn't mind but he didn't even get up till 11.30 this morning so how can he be tired?

They all love them though! The spawn and the two girls in the office go mental for Pandora bracelets and Links stuff. It's only like women in the 70's wanting charm bracelets I suppose.

I had a look in Pandora and Links yesterday. There was a lovely one in Links with little amethyst beads on it that I was thinking of getting my other niece. I know she trusts my judgement. Except it's about FIVE TIMES THE COST of that crystal monstrosity. As it's their 18th birthdays I don't mind spending that much, if it's something they will keep. The other is quite clearly HORRID and it will either break or she'll be bored of it before Christmas.

You could buy her that, and then another little something that you like aswell as it's cheap.

It's a good job you never had teenage daughters, you'd have been carted off to the loony bin in the yellow van with square wheels a long time ago! They're a law unto themselves and there's no point trying to understand them.

As though this hangover wasn't enough to deal with today, I am unable to get up and down the stairs properly after Body Pump yesterday. I never want to do another squat again for as long as I live. My shoulders are killing me too. Even repositioning myself in bed is a struggle. Fuck off Sunday.
