UTTER DRIVEL
Yes yes, it's VoR's bi-monthly Louise nostalgia thread. But I have only just learned of the existence of the ALMIGHTY MIX of this song, featuring ADDITIONAL DIALOGUE
It has quite literally changed my life.
"Love your boots" "Aww, fanks a lot!"
The midweek NUMBER ONE SMASH original mix:
She had so many great solo singles, this one was the epitome of average though.
It's all about the frumpy-sounding woman doing her very bestimpression at the end.
"I can't believe you said that about me!"
"BELIEVE IT, Honey!"![]()
The Almighty mix is life changing.
I always much preferred the Almighty mix to the original. 6/10.
Only the AOOW AOOW lifts this dredge higher than a 5 to a 7 from me. And the intro is like Vanilla on Valium.
Reflected onto the wet pavement, can you see what I see?
I always liked this one. I also like how the video's director got confused between 2-faced and 2D.
Louise got some unfair stick as a popstar. Anyone who had witnessed her on Something For The Weekend would have noted her inability to walk and talk in tandem.
The fact that she fronted album campaigns and completed theatre tours endorsed by now-defunct antiperspirants was a huge achievement.
I noted the other day that Channel 4 has nicked the Something For The Weekend format WHOLESALE, including re-hiring all of the presenters EXCEPT Louise.![]()
And it's all the WORSE for it.
Louise's illiteracy and burgeoning eating disorder hidden under MASSIVE tops were what made it. Now it's endless LAD chat![]()
My favourite Louise moment was when they had Pixie Lott on.
They were chatting about going to the same stage school (their pedigree is QUITE apparent) and OUR LOU was talking about an awful teacher she had. Pixie says stoney faced 'Yeah he's DEAD'.
Queue a few seconds of STUNNED SILENCE.

I QUITE LIKE IT but in what world - even in my "Woman In Me" is a stellar pop album one - can this be a TEN?Elbow Beach was incredibly disappointing too.
I wish she had continued thoughRidiculously I still keep hoping she might....
Can anyone put the Almighty mix in Louise's inexplicably lengthy career please?
I gave this a 9?
I mean it's good, but not exactly troubling my (high quality) Louise TOP 5
This is a classic of our times.
VoR, do you remember us doing the dialogue whilst drunkely mincing through Brighton after the karaoke?
BELIEVE IT HONEY. God we're tragic.
MOTIV8 VOCAL SLAM
I may well have made it up completely. We definitely did 'I Want You Back'.
Let's say it happened.
OH YEAH YOU LOOK GREAT![]()
MOTIV8 VOCAL SLAM
Overrated.
Give me Arms Around The World, Undivided Love or the ultimate slut max track Naked any day
FEARLESS FEMALE
Exactly, just because it's got exquisitely rubbish talky bits hardly renders it a classic. I doubt it would trouble my Louise top 10, but I could be wrong.
Reflected onto the wet pavement, can you see what I see?
The Best That You Bring
Obviously in a post-Xtina world this is completely true, but as a 10yo with only a 40% chance of running into Jimmy Saville it was a HOT as it GOT back in 96
FEARLESS FEMALE
Oh give me the PG remix and no other song exists quite frankly. Well, for about 3 minutes anyway.
Reflected onto the wet pavement, can you see what I see?
She really was utterly useless as a popstar wasn't she? Absolutely no charisma at all.
She owes her whole solo career to FHM.
This is one of her best. It's all about the "HI GIRLS!".
Won't somebody out there hear my SOS...
THIS and her cover of "Let's Go Round Again" INEXPLICABLY got played within half an hour of each other on ASDA FM when I was in there today. Are they still GIVING HER BACKHANDERS or WHAT?
It's been too long, it's been too long...
