Exactly. And anyway, surely it would be 'under-30 gays from London', 'under-30 gays not from London', 'over-30 gays' and 'others'?

Won't this just KILL the Eurovision ones though - especially if we're going back year by year?

Eurovision is a niche thing that most of us avoid, we can always ban Eurovision contestants from participating.

i would love the game to include everyone but i think it's a bit unfair that the rest of us won't be able to play because of some game in the nether regions of Moopy.

I think the Eurovision one had a decent succes and it seems to me that this is just trying to overschadow it.

i don't see it as a competition at all, the idea has always been there and the Eurovision thing merely showed that people are willing to do such a thing again. Moopy is big enough to have both and from what i understand the Eurovision thing is going to be long term and i don't see why the rest of can't have some fun in the meantime.

Well I'm sorry you feel that way.

I would like to echo what Phoenix said. I don't see it as competition or trying to overshadow Eurovision karaoke. I see them as two separate things, as much as the actual ESC and X-Factor shows both involve competitve singing but are quite distinctly separate entities. I don't see why something that appeals to a (let's face it) NICHE interest group couldn't be expanded to let everyone participate. There is absolutely NO REASON why the two can't co-exist. Indeed, I see the Eurovision one as being much more long term, whereas as this, for me, seems more of a one-off event that is open to all, regardless of musical taste. I hope the Eurovision one outlasts this by a long way (not least because my ESC 1999 version of Marija Magdalena will be one for the AGES ).

I think your Eurovision idea was fantastic, Tinu. For me, you really raised the bar on showing what we could do on Moopy. But you didn't invent karaoke so I don't understand where your negativity is coming from.

Oh I know, and I really do hope people would be able to fit in both. That's why I propose having 2 weeks to practise and record, hopefully that would be enough especially considering people should generally be more familiar with their Moop-Factor picks. Also, I need your HOT VOX for MIA week*

I'll have to start a judge selection thread soon.

    (*may not actually happen)

    Start it NOW.

If you keep the judge speculation up for as long as possible you'll be closer to emulating the real thing.
