ON BOARD

this is sweet life

pharell produced
the best song wasn't a single

this has been released a week early, and has gone straight to number one on iTunes UK
think it now deserves its own thread, so splitting...
His "Coming Out" was the most ridiculous publicity stunt I've EVER SEEN
New album coming out NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT, LOVE?
It's been too long, it's been too long...
Wasn't it more about what's on the album anyway? Referring to "he" in a couple of songs. I don't think it's quite as cynical as all that.
it sounds really good on the preview clips, going to give it a proper spin tonight
I am currently rather enjoying my first listen, Super Rich Kids being my favourite so far.
ok, there's some amazing stuff on the album
on first listen the first half seems weaker but the second is absolutely fantastic - pyramids and lost being the initial standouts for different reasons
sweet life is probably one of the weaker tracks on there in my books
looks likely to be one of the albums of the year
the best song wasn't a single
says the tatu fan
seriously, what an unexpectedly rubbish, mansonable opinion
the guy made one of the best records of 2011 (not only in my opinion)
what he did is as close to taboo as it gets in the hip hop/r&b before and ahead of his proper debut too
he probably has far more to lose than to gain from this step in terms of mainstream success

I have the album DOWNLOADING as I type
I'm sure it will be FOR ME
FEARLESS FEMALE
He was going to put that rather subtle and poetic reference to his past same sex relationship in the liner notes, but then posted it on Tumblr. I was sceptical at first, but honestly it's such an unbrassy and quiet way of doing it. The media just happened to immediately pick up on it and take great interest.
He is a really hotly tipped artist and producer, so definitely lots of people give a shit about this album coming out regardless.
I have to say, after one listen, I - disappointingly - find the album quite boring. I wish 'Swim Good' was on it and not just on the EP as it's an amazing song, by far his best so far, and I'm sure tonnes of people would buy it just for that and 'Novacane'. The fact that he declined to reinclude them on the actual album proves that he is not as interested in brazen commercial success as Sheena seems to think. I personally wish he was being more success orientated with the album, but he clearly has his own ideas about what he wants as an 'artisté'.

oh MY
this album is EXTRAORDINARY
as I'm listening to it I feel like I'm listening to something very special indeed... if this is the future of R&B, consider me ON BOARD.
Forrest Gump is one of the best songs of the year.
I love that Grimmy played the 9-minute version of Pyramid the other day as his record of the week
Frank covers 'By Your Side' by Sade

"Thinkin Bout You" and "Lost" are proper amaze, still warming to the rest.
This album is phenomenal. Everything from Crack Rock onwards is just perfect anyway, but the one-two-three punch of Bad Religion/Pink Matter/Forrest Gump just gets me every time.
BIT BEHIND but I am hugely in love with this album
Loving the choice of next single, don't expect it to do much though
"Lost" is being released in the UK next month. It's already #54 on UK iTunes
Quite good, I think, considering "Thinkin' Bout You" didn't trouble the top 100 at all.

The trio of Taxi Driver, Pink Matter and Forrest Gump is SO AMAZING
Does anyone have Swim Good in HQ that they can put in Frank's not-so-secret power bottom? I don't think you can physically buy Nostalgia anywhere.. it's a shame he's released all these cracking singles but the campaign seems to have been all disjointed and going nowhere when he could actually be riding the radio waves with a bit more effort from the label.
I'm addicted to Pink Matter at the moment, particularly that incredibly depressing guitar riff. André 3000's first verse is perfect over it. And Ocean's delivery is faultless as usual.
OMG I have finally got round to downloading and listening to Nostalgia Ultra. WOW.
there will be tears always makes me cry, the bit about his dad in particular
the best song wasn't a single
tickets for a show in brixton on the 9yj of july have just gone on sale *.*
