really very good!
Hmm, it's not quite as catchy/joyous as Sitting On Top Of The World but it's rather DECENT.

I didn't think, I just posted
SHE HAS SO MANY SONGS WITH "BROKEN HEART" IN THE TITLE.
Well it's probably the closest we'll ever get to "Take Me Home" again.
”Go around, we're recreating a faux pas'”
It's not BAD but it sounds more of a b-side than a proper single. And I thought she was supposed to be going back to the sound of 'Innocent Eyes' with this album...
Oh yes this is lush.
I am pleased with the direction of this. It is not what I was expecting but absolutely works and I think for her to evolve and remain relevant (in Australia) this type of sound is what she needs.
She has however developed some strange vocal techniques over the years and i can only imagine she will struggle to hit some of those notes during her live performances. I never really noticed until this year that her pronunciation can be quite lazy and she is very nasally in places on both this and SOTOTW.
That is such an improvement over the last rubbish single it's unreal. I do like me a good dance-ballad!
kyoko, it's me
SOTOTW sounds much more DELTA than this (plus as I said above is much stronger and far more joyous), I agree that she needs to move her sound forward to keep scoring hits but I'm not sure this is quite the success it could have been with slightly reworked production. The whole thing sounds rather lacking on OOMPH.

The thing I don't like about her move to more heavily produced pop music is that on the whole it sounds so CHEAP. 'Innocent Eyes' and 'Mistaken Identity' seemed to sound more authentic because they weren't trying to be everything else in the chart with a fraction of the budget. Which is exactly what the majority of the last album sounded like, and I now think this one will too.
I don't think Delta sounded low budget. In This Life did the whole joyous piano pop thing a million times better than SOTOTW. Believe Again SOUNDED expensive and had the video to match. I get what you're saying about the use of real instruments rather than programmed synthesizers etc but it never sounded like a cheaply produced album to me.

i put this on this morning as i was nursing my hangover and thought it sounded a bit BORING![]()
Quite good but still not the single that would make her worldwide a star again.
She's not a worldwide star though. All she needs is to be huge in Australia.
kyoko, it's me
At least it doesn't rip off a whole Arcade Fire track![]()
Nothing to see here MOVE ALONG.
I think it has potential, but the production sounds really cheap. It has the elements of greatness but it doesn't quite hit the mark. The chorus plods where it should soar.
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Oh and jonathan, think realistically. Fair enough, maybe there's a chance she might record 'that song' which to many ears sound good enough to take her abroad again - do you think the record company would risk the massive financial gamble of trying to push her internationally again though? She doesn't really have a profile outside Australia anymore.
Nothing to see here MOVE ALONG.
I love that first line - 'Held my breath as the last wave pulled me under...'
I wasn't sure on first listen, but really liking it now. Oddly I find the verses much stronger than the chorus

The ONLY Delta Goodrem song I still bother with is "Believe Again" (it had that fantastic remix as well). Everything else seems to range from mediocre to pleasant. Even "Lost Without You" sounds a bit limp today.
Her UK hits were so OF THEIR TIME. To be honest, Born To Try even sounded dated in 2002.
Not Me Not I is still the underrated GEM of that era.
I still ADORE 'Innocent Eyes' and it really was a much bigger hit than it's given credit for I think. It can't have been THAT far off a million copies by the time it left the chart. But yes essentially, much as I love it and I really want her to be successful, you can't overlook the fact that a) 2003 was a bit BARREN when she was successful, and b) Neighbours was still getting 4-5 million viewers a day across both BBC screenings and her music was heavily promoted through it.
Indeed, it spent the MAJORITY of its chart run in the top 20:

Yeah, I'm not keen on it either. It seems a tad pretentious.

It's like a prissy version of Alanis' 'Citizen of the Planet'
she makes Lucie Silvas seem like an exciting popstar.
MOTIV8 VOCAL SLAM
Can't they release their material. Lucie and Delta in a duet would be great.
Live performance of 'Child Of The Universe'. THIS sounds much more what I expected from the album (bar the excessive amount of "Wooo-OW-OOOH-OOOH-OW"s)

Well after actually listening to the song in this thread, it's quite lovely indeed. Still not really anything for me to get excited over but it sounds much more NOW than anything else she's done recently.
And this was the performance that made me a fairweather fan for a few minutes
is there a HQ of this yet? It's so good
