This news is like two days old. Ben already got his revenge yesterday by slowing down and costing the Danish guy a few places.

Well, they never show sailing here, so I didn't know and this morning people wanted to declare war on Denmark and I asked why and got the story of poor Ben being bullied by the Danish and Dutch guy. It's annoying they never show it here, because our surfer is doing brilliantly.
What's confusing? We just find the heart of the prison and the dragon who speaks without walls, and we're home free. Simple.

    Fucking good actually

7 boxers entered, 6 still in - 4 of which have already qualified for quarters.

Contrast to the US, who took 9 and have 1 left.

    That's men's only though. Women's to come.

I feel a bit sorry for Rutherford. It all seemed a bit overlooked for him but he was in a good time slot between Ennis and Farrah.

How many more golds do we think GB can win? Surely we're going to smash the total of 19 from Beijing and hold onto 3rd place in the medal table.

Russia were hoping to finish 3rd with 20-30 gold but so far they've won 3 gold and 16 silver. They'll probably be just as disappointed with their performance as Australia are.

I think we've got 5 certainly on their way from sailing, cycling and dressage. Some the cycling ones we've won so far were our weaker events!

Then there's loads of pretty good chances. Boxing, triathalon, Mo again, sailing, rowing, tennis.

It could be another 15 if things go right.

I wouldn't count Russia out just yet. Of their 23 golds in Beijing, only three were in events that have already been decided in London.

    Sailing (Madison?)
Boxing (not sure how many? Over to Indie)
    More track cycling
Pummel Horse (Louis Smith at least a medal hope)
Uneven Bars (Beth Tweddle was sensational in qualifying)
Vault (Kristian Thomas just needs to land what he's very good at)

Is what I can think of from the top of my head

I'm going to go with a total of 23.

If we beat Beijing, which looks likely, it'll be fantastic. Totally fulfilling on the 'inspire a generation' thing.

If Kristian can come up with another 16.5 in the vault, that should be good for gold, shouldn't it? Of course it's whether he does or not, but he's certainly capable.

We obviously are still in the hunt for 6 boxing. We will probably win 1 but 3 is not entirely unrealistic. The super heavyweight guy is good, Stalker at welterweight is ranked #1 in the world and Ogogo just beat the world #1.

Plus i think the home advantage does sway judges somewhat.

The bookies seem to be predicting 23-25 gold medals.

I think so. But from watching in Beijing I'm not convinced how import talent is - felt more like roulette.

What an amazing race from Farah, and hopefully he'll take the gold in the 5000m. What are the chances of a medal for Team GB in the men's 100m final? Is Chambers much of a threat?

    I'd say about 500-1.

Chambers is a thread only to sportsmanship and British pride. I hope his hamstrings go.

I'd rather Gemili finish last in the final than Chambers place for a medal.

Amazing night of sport. Watched Jessica win gold in Hyde Patk with thousands of people cheering her on in the most unbelievable I-only-need-to-finish-about-9th-to-get-gold-but-fuck-that-I'm-going-to-win-anyway race, and then saw a long jump gold come out of nowhere. Then made it into soho in time to see Mo take Gold and Jess tear up on the podium

    UNBELIEVABLE

Theres tonnes of Americans about too. The atmosphere during the swimming relays was fantastic just because of them!

Oh and can I just say that that mixed doubles tennis semi yesterday was bloody mind blowing

And what a final point. I was at the gym and the place stopped for the final serve ! Laura Robson looked far better than world number 120 or whatever she is

It was probably one of those things that was actually quite rubbish skill wise but looked amazing on TV. Murray scuttling out the way so Robson could return and have it come back over the line
