Maybe she should stick to miming after seeing that, but the recorded and auto tuned vocals aren't much cop either. Just do us all a favour and do a Milli Vanilli.

What I find really strange that pre-fame she could actually SING (see Star Search) and her voice was completely different. I've heard that when she got signed they trained her to sing completely differently in the baby voice than her actual chest voice and since then she's lost the ability to sing properly. There's video evidence of her pre-fame and she does have a good voice!

I'm actually quite surprised with that. It's certainly better than I expected from her. When was the last time we actually heard her sing live? Everytime from the Onyx Hotel?

It all well and good that she sang live (ONCE! Slay me Godney!!!!) but that matters not a jot when you cannot make out ONE FUCKING WORD she's trying to say!

It speaks volumes of how bad she is that THAT is 'better than expected' of her. Half of it barely counts as singing at all - it's more a bizarre mix of guttural yelps and belches.

She sang "You Oughta Know" live on some dates of the Circus Starring Britney Spears tour.

Some loons think she did this one live too but I'm not terribly convinced:

She actually sounds LUCID when she speaks.

You just know that there was sheer PANIC behind the scenes.

I mean it's not like she used to be some kind of Pavarotti. Her voice was below average to begin with, so the videos of her burping through her songs aren't exactly a scandal.

I've never heard the real Lolly's voice but with Lene from Aqua I think that was a group decision rather than being forced by her record label.

I heard that Britney originally wanted to go country before her record label made her go down the pop route. Can you imagine her another LeAnn Rimes?

I saw Aqua live on Saturday night and when Lena was singing in her baby voice, it was appalling- we were really shocked how bad it was.

Then "Turn Back Time" came on and she was note perfect and obviously live. She didn't use the baby voice for everything and she was MUCH better...

9 minutes until I see this hot mess of a show live in Vegas.

I will be EXTREMELY disappointed if there isn’t at least one nonchalant side step/arm sway movement.

What a show. Highlights in no particular order:

    1. The clunky “clean” radio edit of ‘Scream & Shout’ being used.
    2. The person whose job was to shine a torch on stage when the lights went down so she knew where to exit.
    3. ‘Everytime’ featuring her suspended above the stage in full on Godney mode whilst she frantically flapped her arms.
    4. Not a single live vocal to be heard. And not one of the tracks re-recorded from the studio versions.
    5. The absurd middle section that rendered ‘Slave 4 U’ completely undanceable and saw most of the crowd sit down.
    6. ‘Breathe On Me’ being absolutely AMAZING in slightly beefed up form. And the gays all losing their shit when she blew glitter from her hands at the “put your lips together...and BLOW” part.
    7. ‘Me Against The Music’ having Madonna edited out but ‘Slumber Party’ still featuring Tinashe.
    8. Recreating the whole video set up for ‘3’ and then not bothering to perform it.
    9. ‘Till The World Ends’ being a brilliant show closer that makes it ever more a shame that it wasn’t a huge hit in the UK.
    10. ‘Circus’ surprisingly being the song that everyone seemed to know and you could hear singing along to.

So basically it was completely absurd and her nonchalant arm flapping has been replaced with whizzing her hands around like she’s constantly throwing invisible darts. But she brought all the hits and more or less in their original guise - even if the production was different the vocals certainly weren’t.

    I LOVED IT.

No. Nothing off script. She spoke three times and then it was just the HITZ.

That sinister POV camera angle coupled with that inhuman noise makes it like something from a horror film.

If she was actually ever IN THE FUCKING ROOM any time during the last 10 years, had a voice that was at least, even at best, something akin to Katy Perry even on her worst vocal day in history, actually bothered with even a quarter of the dancing she used to (mimed or otherwise), and if the last 2 albums weren't complete shit and in fact even if they still were, she'd possibly be my favourite pop star of the last 20 years.

I don't know how anyone can bear it. I could never in a million years consider seeing this tragedy "live"*. It's like everyone is having one big money-making joke at her expense and she's either too far in her own internal utopia to know or care or is passively going along like a depressed Eeyore being forced to smile and twitch on stage. I wonder if she's secretly SCREAMING inside (whilst making millions).

    I mean that video :D :(

*Actually a lie as we were supposed to go to Vegas last March and admittedly I thought about it if she'd been there. But I could never imagine travelling especially for the "privilege". And I doubt I would have bothered in the end anyway - everything about it would have felt dirty and wrong.

I'm delighted that she's added another track to her live repertoire, joining undisputed classics such as Happy Birthday.

    The Vegas show was amazing!

In part because it was so laughable. But still genuinely one of my favourite nights of the year.
