I loathe Trump as much as anyone else. but unfortunately I doubt the Democrats are going to learn the lesson that needs to be learned from this. Hillary Clinton was an utterly appalling candidate from day 1. She is such a part f the establishment and political elite that in the current climate it should have been obvious that she was a weak. Has the establishment not learned anything from the anger of the Occupy movement; or the Black Lives Matter movement. The US (and UK) is running a free market neo-liberal capitalist oligarchy that is creating massive wealth for a tiny number of people; while removing money and security from the electorate. I don't believe that Trump's supporters or the 52% of Britain who voted for Brexit are racist, misogynist scum (although these elements find their home here). The support for scum like Trump and Farage and May is a howl of rage. Self-sabotaging true in their minds anything is preferable to the stagnant, change nothing status quo. Labour in the UK is in trouble under Corbyn - but if it can start representing the economic interest of its base - rather than the neo-liberal crap espoused by Blair; Brown and Miliband then it should be able to recover. Say what you like about Corbyn but he's a better hope for Labour's future than the beige nothingness of Blairism.
