There seems to be a fair bit of conflicting info from the transport police and the metropolitan police as well.

Quite. Stuff like this happens in Nottingham all the time but it never gets a live rolling update on that.

I just saw a video of people running and screaming but it seemed to be caused by the way the police were acting.

Met Police have as good as confirmed that nothing happened except a mass panic.

    "Report of shots fired"
"No evidence of shots fired, casualties or suspects"

Literally two lines apart on BBC news. :D

Stations have been re-opened. Why are the BBC still reporting this?

And at the end 'the incident is over, an hour and twenty minutes after it began'

    *pause for breath*

'There is no evidence of any incident'

I'm staying in Shepherds Bush next weekend. Gwen Stefani is switching on the Christmas lights at the Westfield while we're there. Hoping for a terror attack then.

I mean gun crime in general rather than suspected terrorist alerts.

    Just google "Nottingham gun crime"

Nottingham gun crime used to be ALL OVER the press in the mid noughties, sorry it's not EN VOGUE anymore!!!

Anyway this really did put the 'minor' in minor terroist attacks. Although I did have a friend in Soho at the time who really was quite rattled by the whole thing.

I’m disappointed in British people, particularly being Londoners. It’s our duty to stay calm and whinge about the transport and inconvenience of it all than panic.

Got a panicking message from the new Italian girl in the flat downstairs at 17:30 wondering where we were. I hadn’t heard about anything so thought that was really weird. She and my flatmate work near that area so they were caught up in a frenzy. Now I’ve got home I now have to listen to the “story” of the stampede that turned out to be nothing.

    Good.

Anyway, not sure why it's a terror attack.

Singer Olly Murs, who was shopping in Selfridges, told his 7.8m followers on Twitter: "Get out of Selfridges now gun shots!! I'm inside."

He added: "Really not sure what's happened! I'm in the back office... but people screaming and running towards exits!"

Mr Murs, who was later criticised for spreading panic, said afterwards: "It's easy to say now it was nothing but in a state of shock and panic I was trying to make people aware of what was happening. Which I was led to believe by staff and customers that someone was shooting."

I don't get it. Was he tweeting his 7.8m followers in case some of them were in Selfridges as well, in which case, would they really be stopping and thinking 'I must just ignore all this shock and panic and check what's going on on Twitter'?

All the guns were down to one family, they got put away, gun crime stopped. I actually lived in the worst part of Nottingham at the time as well called St Annes. It was like the bronx.

I don’t get the trauma about this (especially Piers Morgan telling him when he has lots of followers he should be careful what he tweets- OH THE IRONY!) though. He was obviously just getting it “out there” rather than anything else. If there’s an issue, it’s one with Twitter/ society itself rather than Olly Murs...

Is there any way that we can use Olly Murs as a bargaining chip with the terrorists?

So, do we know what actually happened? Or was everyone is such a heightened state of wild consumerist avarice that two blokes shouting turned into a fucking STAMPEDE?

I have no idea of any 'trauma', or of any comments by Morgan. I just don't understand what Murs thought he was achieving by it; the need to get it 'out there'. But yes, it's absolutely more of a reflection of Twitter, society and particularly the media, which as I've said before actively encourages it.

Mr Ag's birthday celebrations part 7. Seeing Aladdin, nipping up The Shard, shopping, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland and maybe if we have the energy seeing Katya from Drag Race at G.A.Y.

My flatmate keeps saying “there’s something more to this than we’re being told” like some conspiracy theorist. According to her it’s connected to a protest that went on in Hanover Square at the same time. I just stay quiet so she’ll stop talking.

Evacuating the centre of London on one of the busiest shopping days can only be a monumental fuck up/ over-reaction. Nothing more, nothing less.

A pipe bomb is great for a throwback, thoughts and prayers.

Meanwhile the real terrorist militants in America are bringing their own guns to work to murder people now:

If the Amsterdam shooting is a terror attack it's a strange location. That's a quiet neighbourhood - suburbia in fact.
