    10 Charli XCX — Emotional

Waiting for this bitch to break through properly or at least start getting some Carly Rae levels of internet cult fandom.

9 Katy Perry — Chained to the Rhythm

Now this bitch seems to be heading off the rails, but for some that made the music way more appealing. I've always been an armchair fan of her chunks of sugary pop which she delivers with astonishing regularity. Plus the the video was a half decent Black Mirror tribute.

    8 Koit Toome — Verona - 1985 Version

This was the year when 1985 remixes became a necessity, with a backdrop of painfully dull production. This utter Eurovision flop, remixed to AIDS o' clock is the absolute tits.

    7. Steps - No More Tears on the Dancefloor

More Steps! Their comeback really was the apex of gay high energy pop and it was done with no restraint, with the fans in mind. QUEENS!

    6 Blanche — City Lights

The party only starts when Belgian queen of charisma arrives. Part of the Belgian run of success in recent years providing left-field pop. This fan favourite was replicated in the voting and a true QOL was born.

5 Betty Who — Some Kinda Wonderful

Betty Who indeed. Like Charli I hope for the day this bitch sees the UK charts. With a dash of Hollaback Girl (in a good way!) and some pure pop sensibilities, I love this absolute flop/

    4 Blondie — Long Time

Blondie comeback's vary between underwhelming and glorious. This wasn't just glorious, but a sparkling addition to their back catalogue, capturing the glory that made them queens of every genre!

3 Dua Lipa - New Rules

Dua had been on the edge of my consciousness for a while, but I didn't give a SHIT when this got to #1. How wrong I was. A glorious 1980s remix later and I developed a full appreciation of this practical guide to getting over men.

2 Lana Del Rey — Love

Classic Lana. Simple as that. We want faux classic movie soundtracks drenched in melancholy and that's what she gone did.

1 Steps — Scared of the Dark

Number one on iTunes!! For a few heady days back before the world went even more shit, the Steps comeback was a truly glorious gay moment. I don't think it could have been any better. Lee got fit, Lisa remains ridiculous and Faye became a bonafied QOL. And the music... It was literally what we and literally hundreds of other Steps fans were hoping for.

I love Betty Who so much. Her album was unashamedly 90s - it even featured Warren G :D
