Since various record labels are now chucking out disco reissues like compact discs are going out of fashion I thought I'd start a new thread for these releases rather than posting about them in the first disco-related thread that caught my eye.

Gold Legion are doing the first Teri DeSario album, which includes the EVERGREEN Aint Nothin' Gonna Keep Me From You:

    1. The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of (3:25)
    2. Back In Your Arms Again (3:15)
    3. Pleasure Train (4:24)
    4. It Takes A Man And A Woman (3:52)
    5. Save Me, Save Me (3:30)
    6. Aint Nothin' Gonna Keep Me From You (3:52)
    7. Just Another Song And Dance Man (3:01)
    8. Sometime Kind Of Thing (2:44)
    9. Baby I Don't Want Your Love (3:08)
    10. Loving You The First Time (3:45)
    BONUS
Ain't Nothin' Gonna Keep Me From You (12" Version) (6:33)
The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of (12" Version) (6:42)

Ain't Nothin' is the only Gibb production unfortunately (though she does cover Save Me, Save Me also recorded by Dusty and Frankie Valli), but the rest seems to be enjoyable light disco/balladry, aside from It Takes A Man And A Woman which is just about as heinous as it sounds.

They've also just put up The Ritchie Family's Bad Reputation for preorder.

I got Mr L the Philadelphia International Classics Tom Moulton remixes 3cd boxset for his birthday which has had quite a few spins this last week. I'm going to keep an eye on that 10CD set as well. I'm sure we'll see it for at least a tenner less soon enough.

Oh yes, I looked at that. It is a mix of his original mixes and new versions isn't it?

This isn't new but the same label's three disc Salsoul compilation is only £5 now on Amazon. I had quite a bit of it elsewhere but I didn't have a proper Salsoul best of so I picked it up a while back for a little more.

To be honest I don't know. I haven't read the booklet, and am a little bit ignorant without reading up.

Thanks for the Salsoul heads up. I'll get that now :disco:

The above was reissued on CD earlier this year and is top of my list to pick up - once it is going cheap, naturally. I can't stop listening to the COMPLETELY JOYOUS title track/Jet Plane Ride medley:

Also FTG are mopping up Melba Moore's remaining seventies/early eighties albums. I'll be keeping an eye on Dancin' With Melba, which covers her earlier disco stuff, Closer and the quite striking Burn:

Disco Recharge are following their Voyage and Tangerue/Strange Affair reissues with Beautiful Bend/Caress, which is the first in a batch of Boris Midney releases. I think the Midney best of suffices for me and I haven't been falling over myself to buy any of the releases so far, though I am keeping an eye on the Change CD that has been put back to the autumn.

I'd just like to say that the Philadelphia International Classics: The Tom Moulton Remixes is quite frankly PHENOMENAL and if you're a CUNNING PIECE OF SEAWEED LIKE ME you can download the WHOLE JOYFUL FOUR CDS for a BANKBUSTING £3.99 from SAINSBURYS of ALL PLACES

That Moroder compilation unfortunately seems to have been delayed.

On the subject of PHILLY INT, I really can't get enough of the SWEET SOUND of The Jones Girls at the moment. At Peace With Woman and their version of Children of the Night are especially gorgeous.

The Moroder compilation finally appeared today, with a revised cover and a few additional tracks tacked on, including Virgin Mary by Donna Summer which I think is new to CD. It is certainly a bit of a mixed bag (Crippled Words by Brian Evans in particular is rather a trial) and not everything featured is a Moroder co-write or production but you can't go wrong with a bit of Marsha Hunt and Suzi Lane.

The Moulton, Salsoul compilations, Philly and Larry Levan remix albums always come up on my Amazon recommendations which is severely annoying cause I can't afford em but MUST have em NOW. :grr: Fucking Amazon, always bankrupting me. Especially on their one big Amazon advert the Kindle Fire.

Also, I see that Dischage has evolved into Disco Recharge, now individual artist studio albums with the likes of Beautiful Bend.

Fopp in Bristol had a seemingly RANDOM sale on on Friday in which a whole shebang of Cherry Pop/Disco Recharge cds were priced PLEASINGLY. I got two Disco Recharge albums for a fiver apiece, though I forget which they were and as they're in the car, I can't be arsed to go and get them to tell you (neither I had heard of before...)

HMV has a huge bundle of Cherry Pop/Disco recharge/BBR albums for sale - I got Sinitta debut album, Pepsi and Shirley, Sheena, Sequal and O'Chi Brown for the same price. Still looking for Sinitta's Wicked though.

The Giorgio Moroder and Chic compilations were doing well cause of Daft Punk.. I stumbled upon it myself recently. I bet the Giorgio isn't definitive! Like Chic it should have his productions like Suzy Q's Harmony, Three Degrees etc.

Now that makes that reissue of LOVE TRACKS a MUCH MORE TEMPTING PROSPECT

From 3:34 onwards it's Moroder by the numbers though.

This came out last week. I never play vinyl, and the tracklisting is far from exciting, but I'm finding it hugely desirable for some reason.

    Disc 1

    A. Dance, dance, dance (yowsah, yowsah, yowsah)
    B. Everybody dance

    Disc 2

    A. Le freak
    B. I want your love

    Disc 3

    A. Chic cheer
    B. Good times

    Disc 4

    A. My forbidden lover
    B. My feet keep dancing

    Disc 5

    A. Hangin’
    B. Chic mystique

Received my copy of Cherry Pop's reissue of Viola Wills' If You Could Read My Mind today and was MIGHTILY MIFFED to find that the tracklisting on Amazon is incorrect and a number of tracks are missing including the rather soppy but lovely disco ballad Somebody's Eyes. A number of distressed homosexuals are already posting disgruntled reviews on Amazon I see. There is a Tom Moulton remix of the title track not listed originally but that isn't really the point.
