Rita Ora has reportedly signed up to be the next host of the revamped America's Next Top Model.

According to The Sun, Rita will be replacing supermodel Tyra Banks as the presenter of the show, which was axed from US network The CW last October after 22 seasons and 12 years on air.

Rita, who quit the judging panel of The X Factor so she could concentrate on her music career, is reportedly over the moon that she's landed such a high-profile gig in the US.

Back in February, it was confirmed that VH1 has picked up the reality competition for 14 new episodes but an air date has not yet been announced.

Although she won't be hosting, Tyra Banks remains on board as one of the show's executive producers along with Ken Mok.

VH1 general manager Chris McCarthy said in February: "We're thrilled to bring America's Next Top Model back to VH1 and partner with CBS Television Distribution and Tyra Banks to reinvent this franchise for a whole new generation.

"This is a homecoming for the series, as VH1 helped catapult the show to cultural icon status as the first cable network to air the show after it launched."

I'd love a return (with guys and girls) but Rita Ora?

I don't even dislike her but she's not a supermodel.

They need to go back to girls only. It's ridiculous that they even pretend that the guys are on the same level as the girls career wise.

Plus it ends up just ending all about the relationships between the boys and girls and there's much less bitch fests with the girls.

And yet Rita is headed in the same direction. Are #1s even that hard to get these days?

And you're talking about UK #1s, not US right?

I enjoyed the boys v girls thing as a novelty, but I'd prefer it if they alternate seasons rather than setting one against the other.

The men invariably have little in the way of sex appeal, either. Or at least outside of their photos.

Apparently A$AP Rocky is being courted to co-host.

    Names, names, names!

Although I'd be glad to have anyone over Kelly Cutrone, I think.

God knows who Kelly's agent is, but I hope she paid them more than 10% because they were worth every penny.

She was getting every gig going at one stage despite being USELESS, REPULSIVE and well, KELLY OSBOURNE

I don't know anything about Rita Ora other than my (Kosovan) assistant endlessly banging on about her.

I have major feelings towards Rita, but I would have thought she would be pushing on with trying to get another album out. I guess that's all a big MESS in terms of record contracts so TV is where the money is. You can't blame her, but still, an ODD choice.

I do love quite a lot of her singles. Currently rinsing 'Body on Me' which is great - I didn't realise if flopped. Got a low peak, anyway.

I am a HUGE ANTM fan but this panel is fucking SHIT. Have they said whether it's a guys v girls one again? I'm TIRED of all the relationship drama. And I'm still pissed at the last winner.

It seems she tried to sue Jay Z for not releasing her stuff. Probably not the best idea.

Seasons 1-6 were essential viewing at the time. We used to have parties to watch it. I've not seen it at all since - did it evolve much?

I've not seen every season, I think season 9 was the first one I saw actually as it broadcast. I think. The one with Saleisha aka the CRAPPEST winner ever. I have seen 1-4 I think but have them all downloaded. So I have yet to experience Jade.

I just think the quality of the models went really downhill towards the end. And some of the winners were questionable, but of course the whole thing isn't really about that anyway. I don't think Rita has the personality to carry off a show like this, Tyra as much as she became a parody of herself at least had stage presence not like that Kosovan vacuum.

I didn't start watching ANTM until cycle 6. Them I watched all of them religiously until 17 or 18 I think, and have dipped in and out since. And I caught up with the earlier missed cycles as well.

What cycle was Caridee v Melrose? I think that was my favourite.

I think that 6 or 7. The first few seasons are good and then it gradually got worse and became unwatchable around 13-14. I have no memory of the later seasons despite watching them.

The last few seasons you could tell they were not spending as much money. cycle 22's location was Las Fucking Vegas! And the photographer for pretty much every single shoot was Tyra's Norwegian boyfriend. Weirdly they also got rid of the fan vote which I didn't like anyway and some of the voting was rather suspicious. One week there was a tie even when some of the votes were like 8.75.

I've seen all the British ones but never got round to watching any of the others, though I have heard the Aussie one is very good.

    POT LEDOM! :basil:

There was one girl I loved who did probably the best advert I've ever seen on the show. Analeigh or something from Cycle 11 I think? Wonder what happened to her.

analeigh went on to become a minor (minute even) film star.

    jade is a classic.

the show was fun for quite a while but it slowly became less essential until it totally lost the plot. first it was the short and plus sized seasons, the uk vs us, the awfully contrived guys vs girls, not to mention an increasingly awful panel and that ridic scoring system (i'd give it a 2.346). bryan boy was a real low point and cutrone was, is and always will remain rubbish. katy perry's stylist wasn't much cop either.

all in all thank god for miss jay.

I liked both Jays as well. Agree with Miss Jay being the most fabulous, clearly.

Analeigh Tipton has done quite a few TV bits as well.

Well, if there's enough shameless male nudity then I've no complaints. Bring back Janice's agency show with that Eastern European guy who ended up being her security or something.

What unsightly bumps, unless she's doing a Thandie and lifting from the free buffet (it could be a pastry going on the shape). The Diana do is a nice distraction.
