I am ecstatic at the SCD result, and sort of relieved at the X Factor result!

I suspect the JCB song will #1 anyway... But reality TV show singles CAN sell very well... and this series has been very popular...

I thought the JCB song may grab it, it's a definite grower.

I think Will got 4.5 million votes, and Michelle got even more if I remember correctly!

Votes counted is a bit misleading. The First Pop Idol had something like 9 million votes registered, but apparently there were 90 million attempts to vote! I couldn't register my vote and sometimes I couldn't even get a dialing tone.

By PI2 they allowed text voting and extended the time allowed, so Michelle got more votes, but she wasn't more popular. :manson:

Shayne.... "...the summit of sex - the pinnacle of masculine, feminine, and neuter. Everything that he, she and it can ever want... a deadly, winking, sniggering, snuggling, chromium-plated, scent-impregnated, luminous, quivering, giggling, fruit-flavored, mincing, ice-covered heap of mother love,"

they're re-releasing Fairytale Of New York as well. Maybe go out and make that the Christmas #1 it deserved to be 18 years ago.

It was NM #1 but in the UK it was kept out by Always On My Mind by the Pet Shop Boys.

Yes! Brucie sang and we got to see Fiona Phillips dance (be pissed). Mock at Colins final show dance and love every moment of Darren's disco dancing to "A Night To Remember" it was full of lifts and not much more. Rachel Hunter was on her feet!

I'm quite interested to see how two people who got voted out mid-season in the states are gonna compete with our top 4!

But then I don't think it would work with the actual finalists!

Didn't "Dancing With The Stars" only have about 6 people in to begin with? Is it not three people from "Dancing With The Stars" against the top three for "Strictly Come Dancing" season 3?

From what I gather it's Evander Holyfield (dancing with Karen Hardy) and Rachel Hunter (with Brendan Cole) against Darren, Zoe, James and Colin...

The problem is that no-one over here has heard of Kelly Monaco, the winner and not that many people have heard of John O'Hurley who was runner up!

It's all about the dancing in Strictly. Not how famous you are. Didn't Kelly Monaco and John O'Hurley have to dance again because voting was so tight? And John ended up winning it over Kelly the second time?

What happened was that Kelly was given three tens from the judges for a routine that according to most was not very good... while John got three nines for a routine that was considered a lot better, it caused a fair amount of controversy so ABC did a do-over for extra ratings...

Bruno and Len were judges on Dancing With The Stars of course, I think they must have been on instruction to be nice!

Poor Kelly. I want her to win the christmas special. From reading the Bio's on the US websites all the judges seem overly nice. If it's a negative comment it's still positive apparently. They should put Arlene Phillips on and get them whipped into shape.

The judges in Strictly are far better than the celeb obsessed fame hungry ones on X-Factor. When they have an argument you know they actually mean it and probably fall out over it for a week, rather than Sharon pouring water over Louis and them going backstage and saying "Good one Sharon! That will get us in the papers on Sunday!" Moopy should be all about "Strictly Come Dancing" next year.

Ratings... from the BBC of course :)

    First outing

Strictly Come Dancing - 10.4 million
    The X Factor - 9.2 million

    Results Show

    Strictly Come Dancing - 10 million, 38%
    The X Factor - 9.3 million, 36%

Those are pretty bad results for an X-Factor final it has to be said. But then Pop Idol was never up against the Strictly Come Dancing tour de force

so you've only just worked out that X-Factor is there to make fame and money for the panel, not the contestants?

I think it was the right winner overall. Preferred Brenda and Maria though.

Glad Shayne won in the end - his version of Over The Rainbow was outstanding imo, really, really impressive. My god is his family rough though  his mum has to be depressed....or something

i didnt think Shayne was anything special at ALL. We already have Justin Timberlake, why do we need a subpar version?

Andy should have won, it would have been a really nice story
