Out at the end of next month. First single is the title track produced by James Murphy and features backing vox by Bowie. :disco:

There's also an interactive video that doesn't seem to be worth jumping all the hoops for.

It's brilliant, isn't it? I'm sure some Arcade Fire purists probably hate it but more the fool them. I LOVE it!

All 3 albums have been great and they're astonishing live.

Well, I was quite bored thinking it was just a rather pleasant mid-tempo Shakira romp, but it certainly doesn't disappoint when it starts to build momentum. Had no idea Bowie was on it until I came here.

Loving this as well now - one of the best singles of the year. What a success in a career that already had so many highlights.

gosh this is just wonderful. i wasn't sure how they'd follow up the suburbs but they've done a marvellous job - it's warm and it's reflective :basil: and it's full of musicianship and little flourishes that always keep it exciting at almost 8 minutes long.

not crazy about the video mind, but that's a minor qualm

It just keeps GIVING. It took me a while to even realise it was nearly 8 minutes long! You can really hear the James Murphy influence as well.

Yes to everything in the last two posts. I love how the piano merges with the synths near the end when you should be sick of it but then find it seems to end too soon.

Has anyone, like, bothered listening to this?

I'm just giving it my first full spin and I REALLY don't know what to make of it ~ 25 minutes in.

It's sort of washed over me so far, but I always find that with their albums at first

I'm seeing them at the Barrowlands in a couple of weeks :disco:

I have to say this is the first one that's not really wowing me in some capacity on first listen.

It's still quite good and a pleasant listen but do I really approve of this overall shift from a cleaner rock-template to more beat and groove driven, slightly distorted stuff with electronica bubbling underneath? I don't know.

Fingers crossed they don't want you removed from the first row :eyes:

Whatever do you mean? :o I was about three rows from the front.

It was truly an INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE - there was a nice little Regine section with Haiti and Sprawl II, and the big encore was Power Out :disco:

they had people removed from the front rows to the back of the gig at the london gigs earlier this week 'because the band wanted to see new faces'. :|

Glad you had a good time though. I had a look at some of the setlists they played and they weren't bad but 14 songs reallly is far too short - promo/buzz/fancy dress tour or not.

Really?! I'm reading a lot of bad things about this behaviour on this tour. I'd rather they just stick to making great albums and putting on the excellent live shows that they always do without this sort of nonsense.

The album is the weakest of the 4 to me to date but I think that says more about the strength of their back catalogue rather than the weakness of this one. It's still bloody good.

    Yep, same order for me.

Did anyone manage to luck out on the £2.50 tickets for the Hyde Park gig this week?
