Her third album and the moment at which she transitioned from slightly awkward teen-pop-gone-sexy to UNDENIABLE GLOBAL SUPERSTAR. :disco:

The joyous thing about this album is that said transition is achieved entirely through the music, which is not just a HUGE upgrade on what had come before but also one of the best R&B/urban-pop albums in YEARS.

Choosing a favourite single is hard given that ALL ARE 10s but Side To Side is a particularly maximal and remains a staple in my 'being white-girl basic while pre drinking on a Saturday night' playlist. The bonus tracks aren't up to much (Cherly can still claim the best 'I Don't Care') but let's not split hairs when the WEAVE as a WHOLE is so SLEEK!

    Go.

    00 Moonlight
    00 Dangerous Woman
    00 Be Alright
    00 Into You
    00 Side to Side
    00 Let Me Love You
    00 Greedy
    00 Leave Me Lonely
    00 Everyday
    00 Bad Decisions
    00 Thinking Bout You

    00 Focus
    00 Sometimes
    00 I Don't Care
    00 Touch It
    00 Knew Better/Forever Boy

Your tracklisting is WRONG unless you live in the US and/or don't have the vinyl.

    06 Moonlight
    08 Dangerous Woman
    09 Be Alright
    11 Into You
    10 Side to Side
    08 Let Me Love You
    09 Greedy
    06 Leave Me Lonely
    07 Everyday
    09 Sometimes
    06 I Don't Care
    08 Bad Decisions
    11 Touch It
    09 Knew Better/Forever Boy
    09 Thinking Bout You

    07 Step on Up
05 Jason's Song (Gave It Away)
    08 Focus

This is the only sensible tracklisting as the last three tracks are all brilliant. How can anyone say "Touch It" is not up to much? It's just not realistic.

I didn't listen to the full album enough to do a proper rate, but the singles are all fabulous and Into You is one of the best pop songs of the past few years

    Also, Focus is so underrated

Let them say what they say
'Cause I'm about to put them ALL AWAY :disco:

Bought this album cheap. Liked it way more than I expected. Title track instilled minimal interest so i was glad I listened to the others. Thinking About You is probably my favourite track. It's a 7 out of 10 record for me.

i can't say i've listened to it much (a lof of it sounds like filler and looks like filler) but touch it, dangerous woman, everyday, greedy and side to side are all pretty good.

into you is obviously one for the ages.

It's hardly crude to acknowledge it. One Last Time has been one of the biggest hits of the year due to the attack.

Also according to the blinds Scooter's been thanking his lucky stars for Manchester, because the album being a comparative failure despite it firing on all guns because of how unlikeable she was was a sign that she might be doomed.

I like "Greedy" because it soundtracked the dramatic climax of the epic telenovela story they was Valentina, but other than that I feel like her terrible start in music just puts me off investigating any further.

And yes, I don't particularly rate "Into You". It actually reminds me of one of my first visits to a gay club and seeing this emo-thing losing his shit to Christina Milian's "Whatever U Want", and me wondering how I was going to get through the night.

Where exactly was the album a ”comparative failure"? It was one of the biggest of 2016...

I can't remember enough of the album to give a full rating but Into You is a distinctly obvious 11. Perfect piece of pop music. I feel so sorry for anyone that doesn't know that.

And also one of the most promoted of 2016, but only just about got a semi-enduring hit from Side to Side.

Into You was massive though. Peak, no, but it has legs everywhere (think it was top 50 of the year in most markets).

But I guess as good as the album did it didn’t transport her into the Rihanna-type league which is potentially what they were going for?

Single choices like Everyday also tapered any chance of getting her a hit but they somehow insisted on making her a white Rihanna, I dunno why they were so afraid of her becoming a GAY NICHE ARTIST by releasing either Greedy or Be Alright as follow ups of Into You.

I bet the next album will be full of midtempo trap anthems with apperances by Post Malone, Quavo and Migos  with the occasional BANGER thrown in for measure in favour of the gayz.

The album was more of a slow burning hit than a "comparative failure" or smash. "Dangerous Woman" and "Into You" were respectable hits but hardly BLOCKBUSTERS, but they kept the album ticking and ultimately gave "Side to Side" a launching pad to become her biggest hit in years. "Everyday" was a non-starter but I think "Side to Side" was being played at radio for ages (and still is)

I can't say I remember how half the album goes but the singles plus "Touch It", "Moonlight" and "Be Alright" were all very good.

I think some of you are seriously underestimating how big the album was and how much it elevated her stature. It's not ALL about sales (although it sold very well). Fact is she now occupies a similar territory in terms of pop cultural impact to Nicki Minaj - strong fanbase, huge touring act, A-list status among the big pop girls (overtaking dropouts like Katy and arguably Gaga), AND critical respect. She's one killer lead single/unexpected image reinvention away from being the biggest popstar on the planet. So I'd say it did QUITE WELL REALLY.
