The acapella stuff towards the end is nice but yes, not exactly poppers o'clock
FUCK OFF Ariana
I still stand behind NTLTC, but Boooooo
I hope Trolldonna didn’t have any part in this. “Just choose a tacky song title and go from there”. Damage control banger PLZ I don’t care if you have to dress it up as a feature credit
Oh wait, maybe Madonna IS Ariana’s grandmother?!
OH there's a video already
This is much better than the Nicki one, but the chorus is a bit underwhelming until she goes all Like A Prayer on us
When you try to come for me, I keep flourishing
Is my favourite bit of the song
I love that video. She's bringing it for me.
What a fantastic video! So much wonderful imagery, and let's not even get into the screaming gophers
The spoken part is Marge, isn't it?
If it is she sounds RIDICULOUS
That is hands down one of THE best pop videos of the year. 2 for 2 from Grande for me.
It IS Madonna surely?
@Suedey to confirm please!
There is so much to appreciate in that video. I wouldn't say I love the song but I can imagine it being a grower.
It is being reported as Madonna everywhere.
The song is fantastic, the video tremendous and Ariana Grande is basically killing it for me.
There's something about her detached presence that is absolutely the kicker - it wouldn't normally but it totally works. I suppose it helps that she is stunning to look at.
No interest whatsoever, played it for the Madge reference (it is obviously her and what a beautiful touch, having her playing God) and that's REALLY FUCKING GOOD
I was thinking “wow that’s a lot of praise from Moopy” until I realised half the comments were just from Edward
It’s alright, better than the song anyway. A bit of cheap titilation with painted boobs, and a lot of green screen? Is that all we need now? And the gophers :|
Well anyway I like a nice video, even if the song is boring.
PS they can basically show her tit, but the worst hate they can show being thrown at her is “annoying” or “fake”?
The video is fucking wonderful. What a ludicrous GALLERY of fabulous imagery
Yes it is Madonna
The song isn't really doing it for me (at least yet), but that video is everything. I didn't realise they still made them like that any more.
QUEEN OF VIDEOS
Strangely enough I prefer the song to the video
The song is ok but the video is pretty compelling, there's something slightly uncanny about her, like she was synthetically engineered in a lab.
I wish there was a bigger Marge cameo apart from her inspiring voiceover, maybe she's also playing the giant pair of spread thighs.
I like (don't love) the song but the video is very good indeed. I don't mind any of the songs from this album but where are the "Into You", "Side to Side", "Break Free", "Love Me Harder"s??? I'm just getting a lot of "Dangerous Woman"s
The song has grown on me since this morning.
That's great fun...I mean, surely the screaming gophers aren't in the song and just the video, eh?
Yep, no gophers and no Madonna.
Both singles are pretty damn great, particularly in how they're super different shades of mid-tempo. Production and vocals are super luxurious, too.
01. Raindrops (intro)
02. Blazed (feat. Pharrell Williams)
03. The Light is Coming (feat. Nicki Minaj)
05. God Is A Woman
10. No Tears Left To Cry
11. Borderline (feat. Missy Elliott)
12. Better Off
13. Goodnight n’ Go
14. Pete (interlude)
15. Get Well Soon
Hopefully it turns out to be more HAVAN/Sangria Wine and less BED
I am not HERE for this Cardi B shade.
God is a woman is getting a Judas kind of backlash and I am HERE for it. ALLAH is a DADDY you synthetically engineered in a lab hoe. Love the song tho xo
what backlash? It's #4 on global spotify
RELIGIOUSOCIAL MEDIA backlash, but unlike Gags, Youngriana is benefiting from it, because #agism
Oh the Godbotherers take any excuse for a pure FIT nowadays. It's really very funny.
It's hardly a new thing - just that they have embraced social media as well.
Grande (featuring Madonna) has it now suggesting God is a Woman, Madonna herself had it nearly thirty years ago (whimper) for portraying Jesus as black. And she wasn't the first. The God botherers were equally as fervent back then.
This is true. But they're awfully judgey for people who think only God can judge.
The videos for both proper singles (is The Light Is Coming a single? I can't tell anymore) are so good. She's really bringing it with the visuals this era. Really like the song as well. She's not coming out with the sort of stuff I was expecting her to. It'd be so easy for her to have a big hit with a ballad or a Chainsmokers-type track.
Loved her on this. What a fantastic singer. Such a beautiful voice.
My Tesco club card vouchers total £9 so I shall use them to get this album I think. Either that or washing tabs.
Ariana sounded great in her carpool karaoke, James less so.
Excited to listen to the album tomorrow, although sadly it doesn't look like there's a vinyl release
