GET ON BOARD with this EXCEEDINGLY POOR QUALITY (may refer to tracks/kbps/concepts/all of the above)
ASIDE: the .rar file is going in Joanne's labral tear as we mince
This might be old news, but I have a HQ link - if anyone would like it, PM me!
The leak is hq now dear. Just started.
"Aura" is incredibly maximal.
I've just found it but I'm being obstructed by murderous CAPTCHA
I'm only on G.U.Y so far, but I like how the music matches the cover. In many ways
09.5 "Aura" - half a point docked because it feels so fucking short. Makes me want to pop a burqa on.
07.0 "Venus" - there are undeniable glimpses of greatness here. But I can't embrace the messyness or the GARDEN PANTY lyric.
07.5 "GUY" - Very Fame Monster era. Love the production and middle 8 but the chorus is static as fuck sadly. Kills all rhythm stone dead.
I'm getting definite SOLO DEBBIE HARRY vibes.
The 80s explosion of the sexxx dreams chorus is glorious.
07.0 "Sex Dreams" - as mentioned, kind of a mess. I like the bridge a lot and the vibe is hot as fuck, but the execution is off.
04 "Jewels n Drugs" - oh my GODGA the production is absolutely appalling. This was fun live but maybe that was the novelty of her gum blowing on the backdrop. Stone cols fright on record.
Jewels and drugs just passed me by.
Can somebody please send me the HQ version? I'd be very grateful!
What is with the HOLD that this cow has over me? I KNOW that it's going to be awful yet I've still called home from work to download this mess. So yes a HQ version in the next couple of minutes would be much appreciated thanks!
(EDIT: By the way I'm a delivery driver, I didn't abandon a patient mid-surgery or anything...)
08 "Manicure" - good fun and just the right side of messy though clearly not a single at all. Love the instrumental bit.
09 "Do What u Want" - a very welcome relief from the insanity at this point.
08.5 "Artpop" - feels a touch flat compared to the live (wish the yodels weren't so deep in the mix) but thank fuck for a real stone groove at last.
05 "Swine" - not bad per se, just incredibly cheap, basic and, yes, reductive
Walk down the RUNWAY but don't PUKE.
her lyrics are PURE SHIT
"Just ask your GAY FRIENDS their ADVICE
Get a SPRAYTAN on HOLIDAY
08 "Donatella" - is this an homage or a diss track? I'm not sure. Feels very The Fame in places. Not too overbaked. "I'M THE UPPER CLASS"
Fashion! is so 90s it hurts
Could somebody resend an HQ link? The internet cut out on the one I was downloading and when it came back on it had been taken down
07 "Fashion!" - THIS IS SO THE FAME. I bet she absolutely hates it! The verses are gorgeous but it doesn't hang together so well
Mary Jane is just boring and sounds like an amalgam of everything that's come before. In fact, this whole album does.
05 "Mary Jane Holland" - zzz. This is actually exhausting to listen to. Really just noise. I think she was on more than just the mary jane when she baked this one.
Ooh Dope is changing things up.
Bit awkward that she's ripping off Lou Reed now he's DEAD.
(nobody cared love)
DOPE IS THE BEST THING ON HERE.
AND ONE OF THE BEST THINGS SHE'S DONE.
Oh Gypsy is nice too.
06 "Dope" - not bad but unexciting.
10 "Gypsy" - OMG! actual Gaga gold! I feared it would never come. This simply must be the next single. It's insanely good. I'MI'MI'MI'MAIMAGYPSYI'M
God I really am glad we got Applause. It's kind of in another league.
3 Do what u Want
It's fairly slim pickings. Clearly her worst album since the debut.
I have no desire to listen to any of it again now, apart from Dope.
On the whole....PATCHY. There's a few fantastic songs such as Do What U Want, GUY, Gypsy, but far too many DREGS
The only third single here is Gypsy. It's an Edge of Glory moment. Radio will not TOUCH anything else with a DISCO STICK
where is this
Anyway, I actually really like the album. Much better than I was expecting. I pretty much liked every track apart from Swine and Donatella, even Venus has grown on me.
It's a good album. As a 10-track, it would have been great. I would have culled J&D, MJH, Fashion & Donatella and it would be great!
Aura: Much as I appreciate that we have a popstar for whom the concept of 'fun 4 Saudi Arabia' even EXISTS, even on first listening the whole distorted Berlin sound is feeling a bit tired. Maybe I've just known it too long for it to feel fresh but I want some SKY-HIGH MELODIES at some point on this album and the madness of this doesn't even rival the joys of Americano (7/10)
Venus: I'm not even BOTHERING with this shit. The worst thing she's ever done and I really hope the decision to have this as the second single was just xanaxxx dreams (1/10)
G.U.Y: OMG THANK CHRIST. Gaga doing what she does best - SLUTTY MELODIC MAXIMALITY That middle eight is a thing of pure pop beauty. I didn't think old Stef still had it IN HER to come out with something like this (10/10)
Sexxx Dreams: ANOTHER triumph. I don't like what they've done with the chorus since the iTunes perf because it's a bit cluttered now but you can't really argue with the POP AMBROSIA of that chorus. (9.5/10)
Night Time, My Time OUT NOW
GUY really is potentially VERY VERY GOOD. Will have to give it a few more listens before I declare my love for it, but that chorus and middle 8 are great stuff.
ARTPOP is also really working for me too, the chorus could perhaps do with a little more LIFT but it's pretty much my favourite thing on there. Gypsy is good too, but the production on the 'Tonight' bridge sounds really generic. Donatella is ALMOST a fabulous mess, but again the production doesn't do it for me.
Jewels + Drugs: AGOG at this cultural appropriation Gags babes, leave the 2004 Billboard R&B + Hip Hop filler to Molly. (5/10)
